About the RoleWishbox Studio is looking for a Video Editor who brings more to the table than great edits. We want someone who genuinely cares about brands — someone who watches a video and instinctively asks not just “does this look valuable?” but “does this do what it needs to do?”
At Wishbox Studio, video is a team sport. You'll work closely with social media managers, strategists, and designers — sometimes all on the same project at the same time. We want a video editor who is comfortable in that environment, enjoys the back and forth, and brings their own ideas to the table rather than waiting for a brief to land in their lap.
The work here is a mix of both — some projects you'll own end to end, independently, from brief to final export. Others will be deeply collaborative, with a strategist, social media manager, or creative director involved at every stage. We need someone who is equally comfortable with both — someone who can work with focus and autonomy when needed, and shift into a team mode just as naturally when the project calls for it.
If you stay curious about new tools, keep up with what's working on social, and take pride in making workflows smarter — you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
- Edit videos across formats — Reels, Shorts, long-form, brand films, ad creatives, event recaps — tailored for the platform they're going on.
- Actively participate in strategy discussions and content calendar planning alongside social media managers, contributing video ideas, formats, and execution thinking.
- Identify trends on social media and reimagine them for specific brands — not copy-paste, but creatively adapt with a twist that actually fits the brand's tone and objectives.
- Advise during pre-production — flag footage requirements, potential edit challenges, and what needs to be shot for the edit to work well.
- Build and maintain a library of templates, presets, and reusable assets to make the team's workflow faster and more consistent.
- Explore and integrate AI-powered tools, 3D elements, and motion graphics into video production — and bring current capabilities to the team proactively.
- Manage project files, exports, and assets with clean file hygiene so anyone on the team can pick up mid-project without confusion.
- Take feedback from multiple stakeholders — strategists, clients, creative directors — and incorporate it without losing the thread of the original vision.
- Respect deadlines, office timings, and team workflows. Show up prepared, communicate blockers early, and be someone the team can rely on.
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years of video editing experience, preferably at a digital/creative agency or in a multi-client environment.
- Strong understanding of how brands work — you know the difference between what is engaging and what serves a business objective, and you can hold both at the same time.
- Platform-native thinking — you instinctively know how a Reel differs from a Short differs from a LinkedIn video, and you edit accordingly without being told.
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
and a genuine curiosity about what's next.
- Working knowledge of motion graphics and basic animations — kinetic typography, text overlays, transitions — without always depending on a motion designer.
- Sound design sensibility — you understand how music, SFX, silence, and pacing work together to create emotion, not just fill space.
- Hands-on experience with or strong interest in AI video tools, 3D video production, and emerging formats.
- A self-editing instinct — you know when a video is done. You don't over-tinker. You respect the deadline.
- The ability to absorb multiple rounds of feedback from different people without losing the plot or getting defensive.
- Strong file management habits — organised, consistent, and considerate of the people who'll work on your files after you.
- A collaborative temperament — you enjoy working with writers, strategists, and designers, and you see their input as useful, not intrusive.
- Respect for office structure, timings, and team policies — reliability is non-negotiable here.
Nice to Have
- Experience with colour grading and basic sound mixing.
- Familiarity with tools like CapCut, Runway ML, Pika, or other AI-native video tools.
- Exposure to shoot environments — you've been on set and understand what makes footage edit-friendly.
- An eye for design and typography beyond standard lower thirds.
- Experience contributing to or owning a brand's video identity — not just executing briefs.
