Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and academically strong Vice Principal / Headmistress to support the Principal in the overall academic, administrative, and operational management of the school.

The ideal candidate will provide strong instructional leadership, ensure high standards of teaching and learning, maintain student discipline and wellbeing, mentor teachers, engage with parents, and ensure effective implementation of school policies and academic programs.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership

- Support the Principal in planning and implementing the school's academic vision and objectives.
- Monitor teaching and learning standards across classes and subjects.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Review lesson plans, academic progress, assessments, and student performance.
- Ensure effective implementation of the curriculum and academic calendar.
- Analyze student performance data and develop improvement strategies.
- Promote innovative, activity-based, and student-centric teaching practices.
- Coordinate examinations, assessments, results, and academic reviews.

School Administration
- Assist the Principal in the day-to-day administration and smooth functioning of the school.
- Ensure effective implementation of school rules, policies, procedures, and systems.
- Supervise coordinators, teachers, and support staff as assigned.
- Prepare and monitor duty rosters, timetables, substitutions, and other academic schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely submission of school reports.
- Coordinate school events, assemblies, competitions, trips, and other activities.
- Support compliance with applicable board and school regulations.





Student Management & Discipline
- Maintain a safe, disciplined, respectful, and positive school environment.
- Address student behavioural and disciplinary concerns appropriately.
- Work closely with teachers and counsellors to support students with academic, behavioural, or emotional concerns.
- Promote student leadership, responsibility, values, and overall development.
- Ensure appropriate safeguarding and child-protection practices are followed.

Teacher Leadership & Development
- Mentor and guide teachers to improve classroom effectiveness.
- Identify professional development needs and coordinate training programs.
- Conduct staff meetings and academic review meetings as required.
- Monitor teacher performance and provide regular feedback.
- Encourage collaboration, innovation, and a positive professional culture.

Parent & Stakeholder Relations
- Build strong and qualified relationships with parents and guardians.
- Address parent concerns and ensure timely resolution of academic and student-related matters.
- Represent the school professionally in meetings and events.
- Coordinate with the Principal, management, parents, and external stakeholders when required.

Leadership & Strategic Support
- Support the Principal in achieving school-wide academic and operational goals.
- Take charge of the school in the Principal's absence when assigned.
- Lead special projects and initiatives as directed by the Principal/Management.
- Contribute to strategic planning, school improvement initiatives, and quality enhancement.




- Monitor key school performance indicators and prepare reports for management.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Education, English, Science, Mathematics, Psychology, or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. is required/preferred as per school/board requirements.
- 8–15 years of relevant experience in teaching and school leadership.
- Previous experience as Headmistress, Vice Principal, Academic Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, or similar leadership role preferred.
- Strong understanding of school academics, curriculum planning, assessment, and classroom practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace and school management systems/MIS.
- Knowledge of CBSE/ICSE/State Board regulations, as applicable, will be an advantage.
