Elevate LLC | Partner Firm Opportunity
Location: Delhi, India (On-site)
About Elevate
Elevate LLC is a next-generation professional services platform built to partner with entrepreneurial, growth-focused accounting, tax, and advisory firms. Our mission is to empower firms and their leaders by providing capital, operational support, technology, and strategic guidance to help them scale while preserving their independence and culture.
A partner firm of Elevate headquartered in Maryland serving closely held businesses, government contractors, and employee benefit — is seeking an experienced Manager – US Assurance, Tax & Client Accounting Services to lead our Delhi delivery office. This is a high-impact leadership role offering the opportunity to build and run the firm's Delhi practice while working directly with the firm's US partners within Elevate's broader national platform.
Timings are 10:00 am – 8:00 pm IST, reports to the Engagement Partners (US) and supervises a team of five. The role is hands-on: the successful candidate will do the work as well as review it, and will build the structure — review protocols, close calendars, trackers, and quality controls — that the team currently lacks.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal client contact for the Delhi office: status calls, scope and timing discussions, technical explanations, and issue escalation.
- Own SSARS reviews (AR-C 90), compilations (AR-C 80), and 401(k) plan audits end to end, through to peer-review-ready workpapers and draft financial statements.
- Review Forms 1065, 1120-S, 1120, and 1040, including book-to-tax tie-outs, Schedules L/M-1/M-2, basis and Form 7203, officer compensation, multistate sourcing and apportionment, PTET elections, and prior-year carryforwards.
- Own the monthly close calendar across the bookkeeping portfolio; hold team leads to committed delivery dates and release financials on schedule.
- Build and maintain delivery systems, including a client standing-data sheet, an error log by preparer, pre-submission checklists,
and weekly exception reporting to partners.
- Supervise five professionals through two team leads, and develop two of them to first-level reviewer capability within eighteen months.
- Collaborate with Elevate's leadership team and shared services to leverage technology, innovation, and best practices across the platform.
Qualifications
- Spoken and written English suited to daily direct interaction with US clients. This is a threshold requirement, assessed first by video interview.
- CA and/or US CPA, or CPA-eligible. EA is an advantage.
- 4–6 years with a US CPA firm or US-facing practice, including hands-on US GAAP work (reviews, compilations, or audits).
- Review-level responsibility on US business and individual tax returns.
- Evidence of having built or improved a process, tracker, or quality control — not merely operated one. Candidates should be prepared to describe one example.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (including job costing), Xero, Bill.com, and US tax software (ProSeries, CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or comparable). Advanced Excel skills required.
- Comfort adopting AI-assisted review and workflow automation.
- Full commitment through the January–April and September–October filing peaks.
- Preferred: background with a small or mid-sized US-facing practice (20–50 professionals) rather than a large captive delivery centre.
- Preferred: exposure to project-based or contract accounting, or employee benefit plan audits. DCAA and indirect rates are a plus — training is provided.
- Preferred: experience supervising a delivery team.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for this role is at the senior end of the market for this profile and is aligned with candidate experience. Beyond compensation, this role offers direct partner access and real ownership of clients and process from day one, breadth across assurance, tax, and client accounting in a single role, a mandate to build rather than inherit, and a explicit path to a leadership seat with a growing firm that has an active acquisition pipeline.
Specific details on benefits eligibility will be provided during the hiring process.
