Description
- Lead the team with a clear focus on health, safety, wellbeing, engagement and retention.
- Deliver business plan, operational and commercial targets.
- Manage GCC resource deployment and utilisation.
- Support UK bidding opportunities with appropriate GCC input.
- Act as the key GCC contact for UK Project Directors and senior stakeholders.
- Drive staff development through goals, reviews, mentoring and training.
Responsibilities
People:
- Provide visible leadership, mentoring and technical direction to the team.
- Assess team competency and address training needs.
- Build capability and capacity to meet current and future business needs.
- Manage performance, development plans and career progression.
- Support workforce planning, retention, succession and recruitment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and risk controls.
- Coordinate with wider GCC teams on resource availability and development priorities.
Technical:
- Manage discipline hours, budgets and project costs.
- Lead design across electrical, Mechanical, Process and Controls & Instrumentation
- Develop technical specifications for package plant and installations.
- Prepare contract schedules and supporting technical documentation.
- Oversee CAD production of electrical drawings.
- Review and approve technical deliverables before issue.
- Prepare technical enquiries and bid evaluations.
- Coordinate technical inputs with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
- Govern GCC technical outputs to meet UK project requirements.
- Ensure high-quality,
timely engineering deliverables across India and UK teams.
- Work with project managers to deliver fit-for-purpose outputs and maintain client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Mandatory Skills
- Proactively manage requirements, risks and stakeholder influence to support successful delivery.
- Solid interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with project teams, stakeholders and clients.
- Significant experience in team management, line management and day-to-day operations.
- Experience acting as a lead client contact for consultancy services and building strong relationships with clients and co-professionals.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Experience working on UK and international projects.
- Open-minded, adaptable and intellectually agile.
- Demonstrates fairness, honesty, integrity and ethical conduct.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 16 years’ experience in industrial projects.
- Chartered Engineer status with the UK Engineering Council.
