As we establish our manufacturing centre in Hyderabad to drive our next phase of growth, we are seeking an Operations Head who pushes our drive for innovation, quality, and sustainability.
This role is pivotal in our vision to build a world leader in heating & cooling solutions that will directly contribute to reducing 100MT of CO2 while being a multi billion dollar company over the next decade.
Installation & Service Engineer-
Core Responsibilities
Installation:
- Carry out on-site installation of high temperature heat pump units, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and refrigerant-circuit connections, as per design drawings and P&IDs.;
- Perform pre-commissioning checks: pressure testing, vacuum/dehydration, refrigerant charging, and leak detection in line with F-Gas/refrigerant handling regulations.
- Commission compressors, evaporators, condensers, controls, and BMS/PLC integration, and validate performance against design parameters (COP, capacity, flow/temperature).
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and piping contractors at site to ensure installation readiness and resolve interface issues.
- Hand over commissioned systems to the customer with complete documentation, test records, and operator training.
Service & Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) visits as per the maintenance calendar and OEM guidelines.
- Diagnose and rectify breakdowns on refrigeration circuits, compressors, controls, sensors, and auxiliary equipment, minimizing downtime.
- Perform refrigerant top-up/recovery, oil analysis, and component replacement (compressors, valves, sensors,
heat exchangers) as required.
- Support performance optimization visits, identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency (COP) and reliability.
- Manage spare parts requirements for service visits, including forecasting and inventory coordination with the service planning team.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Provide remote and on-site technical troubleshooting support for control systems, refrigerant circuits, and electrical faults.
- Analyze recurring failure patterns and escalate design or quality issues to Engineering/R&D; with root-cause data.
- Support warranty claim investigations with technical evidence, failure analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and submit installation, commissioning, and service reports within defined timelines using the company's service management/CRM system.
- Maintain accurate site records: test certificates, refrigerant logs, PTW/permit records, and customer sign-offs.
- Update job status, parts consumption, and time logs for accurate billing and service cost tracking.
Safety, Health & Compliance
- Strictly adhere to Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), working-at-height, and confined-space safety protocols at customer sites.
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with applicable environmental and F-Gas/ozone-depletion regulations; hold or work toward relevant refrigerant handling certification.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow customer-specific EHS requirements at all times.
- Report near-misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly as per company EHS procedures.
Customer Interaction & Training
- Act as the technical face of the company at customer sites, ensuring professional communication and timely issue resolution.
- Conduct operator training on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices at handover.
- Support the sales/service team with technical inputs during site surveys, feasibility assessments, and service contract renewals.
Qualification:
- Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in installation, commissioning, or service of heat pumps, chillers, industrial refrigeration, Industrial Chillers or Vam Chillers; experience with high temperature heat pumps or industrial process heating is a robust advantage.
- Working knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors (screw/scroll/reciprocating), heat exchangers, and refrigerants (including low-GWP/natural refrigerants such as ammonia, CO2, or propane, where applicable).
- Exposure to BMS/PLC-based controls, sensors, and instrumentation used in heat pump systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, including domestic and (where required) international locations.
- Valid driving license
Key Skills & Competencies :
- Strong technical troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Sound understanding of P&IDs;, wiring diagrams, and equipment technical manuals.
- Good communication skills for customer-facing interactions and technical training delivery.
- Structured, safety-first work approach with high attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Ability to work independently at remote sites, plan travel, and manage time across multiple service calls.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office and service/CRM software for reporting.
