Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor Blast Furnace parameters via PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems.

- Maintain stable operation by controlling top pressure, differential pressure, hot blast pressure, temperature, humidity, oxygen enrichment, burden descent, gas flow, and distribution for optimum reduction efficiency.

- Operate and monitor the TRT system for energy recovery, controlling top gas pressure, temperature, flow rate, turbine inlet and outlet conditions, and valve settings to maintain furnace top pressure balance.

- Coordinate with Power Plant and Electrical teams for turbine synchronization, load management, and efficiency.

- Monitor Gas Cleaning Plant (GCP) performance to ensure dust-free gas entering the TRT.

- Ensure compliance with operational limits to prevent turbine vibration, erosion, or imbalance.

- Record and analyze TRT performance including kWh generation, availability, and pressure drop.

- Assist in optimizing furnace operations for fuel rate reduction, PCI improvement, gas utilization, furnace pressure control, and enhanced TRT power recovery.





- Conduct trials to evaluate process modifications for furnace and TRT performance improvement.

- Identify and support corrective actions for abnormalities such as pressure fluctuations, vibrations, gas distribution issues, hanging, or scaffolding.

- Ensure protected switching between TRT and bypass operation during maintenance or emergencies.

- Coordinate with Blower House, GCP TRT Team, Cast House, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams for smooth operations.

- Ensure strict adherence to Blast Furnace and TRT safety protocols, PPE compliance, and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

- Report unsafe conditions, vibrations, or process deviations immediately.

- Maintain clean work areas and support ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards compliance.

- Participate in safety audits, hazard identification, and near-miss reporting.

- Maintain logs and reports for furnace process parameters, TRT performance data, daily operations, deviations, and maintenance.

- Support monthly KPI analysis, audits, energy reports, and management reviews.
