Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Audio DSP Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and optimizing real-time audio solutions for consumer electronic products.
The candidate should have solid expertise in digital signal processing, embedded audio, multi-microphone systems, acoustic tuning, and real-time audio algorithm implementation.
Experience with products such as smart glasses, TWS earbuds, hearables, headphones, smart speakers, AR/VR devices, or wearables is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize real-time audio DSP algorithms for embedded platforms.
- Work on AEC, ANC, Noise Reduction/ENC, Beamforming, AGC, VAD, EQ, and Speech Enhancement.
- Design and tune multi-microphone audio pipelines for voice calls, recording, ASR, and media applications.
- Perform microphone characterization, gain calibration, channel matching, and acoustic tuning.
- Develop and optimize DSP algorithms in C/C++ for fixed-point and floating-point implementations.
- Optimize audio processing for latency, CPU/MIPS, memory, and power consumption.
- Integrate vendor and third-party audio libraries and codecs.
- Debug issues such as echo, noise, feedback, clipping, distortion, latency, and audio dropouts.
- Work with interfaces such as PDM, PCM, I2S, TDM, USB Audio, and Bluetooth Audio.
- Support Bluetooth profiles/codecs such as A2DP, HFP, LE Audio, SBC, AAC,
LC3, Opus, and PCM.
- Perform audio quality evaluation, tuning, validation, and production debugging.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, acoustics, and AI/ML teams.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Signal Processing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Audio DSP / Embedded Audio.
- Strong knowledge of FFT/DFT, FIR/IIR filters, adaptive filtering, sampling, resampling, and time/frequency-domain processing.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience implementing real-time DSP algorithms on embedded MCU/DSP/SoC platforms.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of AEC, ANC, Beamforming, Noise Suppression, AGC, or Speech Enhancement.
- Good understanding of microphones, speakers, ADC/DAC, amplifiers, audio buffering, synchronization, and latency.
- Knowledge of RTOS, DMA, interrupts, and real-time embedded systems.
- Strong debugging and root-cause-analysis skills.
Preferred Experience
- Smart glasses, TWS earbuds, hearables, AR/VR, or wearable products.
- Qualcomm, BES, MediaTek, Cadence/Tensilica HiFi, CEVA, TI, NXP, or similar audio platforms.
- Bluetooth Classic and LE Audio.
- Wake-word and ASR front-end processing.
- MEMS microphone characterization and multi-mic tuning.
- MATLAB/Python-based audio analysis.
- Audio Precision, HEAD acoustics, REW, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
