We are looking for a proactive Strategic Finance Operator to be the financial backbone of our rapidly scaling global operations. At KoiReader, you won't just balance the books; you will build the financial infrastructure that fuels our growth across the US and India. You will own the day-to-day financial pulsefrom complex revenue tracking and SaaS metrics to investor-grade reporting.
We need a rigorous numbers-driven leader who can ensure our financials are as flawless and scalable as our AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoicing & Accounts Receivable (AR): Own the end-to-end invoicing lifecycle across our US and India entities (generation, dispatch, and aged debt follow-up). You will track partial and split payments against single invoices with absolute precision.
- Accounting & Month-End Close: Drive the month-end close, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and intercompany eliminations. You will ensure strict adherence to Ind AS for the India entity while coordinating with external advisors for US entity reporting.
- SaaS Metrics Modeling: Track and maintain SaaS health metrics (MRR, ARR, NRR, Churn, LTV, CAC) as a live, energetic model. You will tie these metrics directly to the underlying financials so they can be rigorously defended to any investor.
- Investor & Board Reporting: Build and own the investor data pack (Runway, Burn, Gross Margin). Your numbers must be investor-grade: fully reconciled to the books, clearly sourced, and featuring zero unexplained variances.
- Global Payroll Management: Independently run India payroll operations (PF, PT, TDS deductions, Form 16, monthly GL reconciliation)
while working closely with external advisors to ensure US entity payroll compliance.
- External Audit Liaison: Act as the primary command center for our CA firm, external auditors, and advisors. You provide clean books, timely variance commentary, and comprehensive data packages—never just raw data dumps.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total compliance with Indian financial regulations, assisting in the flawless filing of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
Skills & Requirements
- Financial DNA: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 4-8 years of hands-on experience in financial administration or FP&A.;
- SaaS Acumen: Deep understanding of B2B SaaS revenue models and metrics (ARR, NRR, Churn). You understand how software companies make and measure money.
- Cross-Border Experience: Experience handling accounting operations for multiple entities (specifically India and the US) and managing intercompany transactions.
- Accounting Standards: Strong working knowledge of Ind AS and general local tax regulations (GST, TDS).
- Tool Mastery: Advanced proficiency in financial ERPs/software (Zoho Books, QuickBooks) and expert-level Microsoft Excel skills (advanced modeling, VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Analytical Rigor: An obsessive attention to detail. You have a zero-tolerance policy for unreconciled accounts.
Brownie Points
- Certifications: CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Startup Veteran: Previous experience building financial processes from scratch in a fast-paced, VC-backed tech or SaaS startup.
