About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for Backend and Mobile engineering in a global product environment.

The role requires approximately 50% focus on Backend Engineering and 50% on Mobile Engineering , combined with strong people leadership, technical decision-making, stakeholder management, and execution ownership.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in a large, structured/global organization , managing engineering teams, collaborating with international stakeholders, and delivering highly scalable consumer or enterprise products.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage Backend and Mobile engineering teams , ensuring strong technical execution and delivery.
- Drive approximately 50% Backend + 50% Mobile engineering ownership across architecture, development, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Provide strong technical leadership across distributed systems, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms, and mobile applications .
- Own engineering strategy, roadmap execution, architecture decisions, engineering standards, and technology adoption.
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams; manage hiring, performance, career development, and succession planning.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, Security, Data, and global engineering teams .
- Manage and communicate effectively with senior leadership and global stakeholders across different geographies.
- Drive engineering excellence through code quality, automation, CI/CD, observability, security, scalability,



and operational reliability .
- Establish a culture of ownership, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Identify technical risks and ensure timely resolution of complex engineering challenges.
- Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Represent engineering in senior-level business and product discussions.

Technical Expectations Backend – 50%
- Strong experience with Backend Engineering and Distributed Systems .
- Expertise in Java / Kotlin / Node.js / Python / similar backend technologies .
- Strong understanding of Microservices, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, Kafka/message queues, databases, caching, and scalability .
- Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong understanding of performance, reliability, security, observability, and production systems.

Mobile – 50%
- Strong understanding and leadership experience across Android and/or iOS mobile engineering .
- Experience with Kotlin/Java, Swift/Objective-C, React Native or other modern mobile frameworks .
- Understanding of mobile architecture, SDKs, API integration, performance optimization, release management, and mobile security.
- Ability to drive technical decisions across mobile platforms while maintaining engineering quality and scalability.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management




- Strong people management and engineering leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with CXO/VP/Senior Leadership .
- Strong experience managing global stakeholders and distributed engineering teams .
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions in a matrixed organization.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to represent engineering confidently in leadership forums.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships across Product, Technology, Business, and Global teams .
- Experience managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and large-scale engineering programs.

Ideal Candidate
- 12–18 years of overall software engineering experience.
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager / Senior Engineering Manager / Group Engineering Manager .
- Strong combination of technical depth + people leadership + business understanding .
- Experience in a Global Product Company / Large Enterprise / GCC / Internet Product Organization .
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams across Backend and Mobile.
- Strong track record of delivering large-scale, customer-facing products .
- Excellent communicator, confident presenter, and strong executive presence.
- Should be comfortable working in a structured, process-driven global environment .
