Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership

- Lead engineering for a large-scale, channel-agnostic commerce platform supporting multiple customer and sales channels.

- Product discovery

- Product catalog

- Search/discovery experiences

- Cart

- Checkout

- Order placement

- Conversion funnel

- Drive the evolution of the platform to support growing transaction volumes, customers, products, and channels.

- Ensure high availability, scalability, reliability, security, and performance across the commerce ecosystem.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

- Define and drive scalable architecture for high-traffic consumer commerce systems.

- Lead technical solution design for complex, distributed commerce problems.

- Establish architectural standards, design principles, and engineering best practices.

- Design highly scalable services and APIs supporting critical customer journeys.





- Drive modernization, simplification, and platform scalability initiatives.

- Identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks across the commerce ecosystem.

- Ensure systems are designed for resilience, observability, fault tolerance, and operational excellence.

Consumer & Product Thinking

- Partner closely with Product, Design, Business, and other technology teams to improve the overall commerce experience.

- Understand customer journeys and identify technology opportunities to improve conversion.

- Think deeply about questions such as:

- How do we convert a customer from a discovery page into an order?

- How can category/product experiences improve engagement?

- How can checkout friction be reduced?

- How can platform capabilities improve conversion and customer experience?

- Balance business objectives, customer experience, scalability, and engineering excellence.
