Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Modeler with strong hands-on expertise in Data Modelling, Snowflake Data Warehousing and Insurance domain.
The candidate will be responsible for designing logical and physical data models, developing source-to-target mappings, performing data analysis and profiling, and collaborating with Data Engineers to create optimized structures supporting DBT pipelines and Power BI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Logical and Physical Data Models for Data Warehouse and Data Mart layers in Snowflake.
- Create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents.
- Ensure accurate data mapping across policy, claims and financial domains.
- Define data entities, attributes and relationships based on business requirements, source systems and analytical needs.
- Validate transformation logic for downstream consumption layers used by DBT pipelines and Power BI models.
- Perform detailed data analysis and profiling.
- Analyze and interpret JSON payloads and complex data structures.
- Ensure conformance to dimensional modelling, normalization and denormalization practices.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to design optimized structures.
- Consider Snowflake performance and data warehouse best practices while designing models.
Technical Skills
- 12+ years of hands-on Data Modelling experience.
- Solid Insurance domain experience.
- Experience working in Data Warehousing environments.
- Ability to translate business requirements into logical and physical data models.
- Strong experience designing and implementing data models in Snowflake.
- Experience developing SCD Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 dimension models.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts.
- Strong hands-on experience with Erwin Data Modeler for conceptual, logical and physical modelling.
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake data warehouse layers including staging, curated and marts.
- Strong SQL skills for validating transformations and model outputs.
- Knowledge of JSON/XML structures, schema interpretation and source payload analysis.
- Strong understanding of data integration issues, data validation and data cleansing.
- Experience working with complex data structures.
- Understanding of DBT pipelines and Power BI models.
- Experience working in an Agile methodology.
Insurance Domain ExpertiseExperience in one or more of the following Lines of Business is preferred:
- Workers Compensation (WC)
- Commercial Multi-Peril (CMP)
- Excess & Surplus (ES)
- Excess Casualty
- XS Casualty
