Job Title: Senior Azure Data Engineer

Location: Chennai

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineerto join ourteam. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in planning, designing, and executing data migration strategies and processes using Azure services. This role involves working closely with cross-functionalteams to ensure seamless data migration from on-premises or other cloud environments to Azure, while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration Strategy Planning

- Design and develop data migration plans and strategies for moving large volumes of data to Azure Cloud.
- Assess current data sources and systems and determine the best approach for migration (lift and shift, re-architecture, etc.).
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines.

Execution of Data Migrations

- Lead and execute the migration of data from on-premises or other cloud platforms to

Azure using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure

Synapse, or other relevant Azure services.

- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the migration process.
- Develop,test, and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for migration.

Optimization s Troubleshooting:

- Optimize data migration pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
- Conductroot cause analysis for any data-related issues and provide actionable solutions.

Documentation Reporting:

- Document the migration process, including methodologies, workflows, and technical details for future reference.
- Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on the progress, issues, and resolutions during the migration project.

Data Security s Compliance:

- Ensure data is migrated securely and in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Implement best practices for data encryption, masking,



and securing sensitive data during migration.

Collaboration

- Work with database administrators, data engineers, and othertechnicalteams to ensure successful migration and integration of data within Azure services.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

- 5+ years of experience in data migration and cloud technologies.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure services,including Azure Data Factory,

Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, and Azure Blob Storage.

- Robust background in database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL,

with knowledge of data modeling and schema design.

- Experience in handling large-scale data migrations involving both structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and Azure Kubernetes Service

(AKS) is a plus.

- Microsoft Migration Assistant is an advantage (Preferred or Added Plus)

Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of data migration best practices and tools.
- Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Developing, implementing, and optimizing SQL queries
- Collaborating with software developers to integrate database solutions into applications
- Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues
- Performing database performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Should have knowledge in Performance Monitoring Tools.

Certifications (Preferred)

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate.
