Our India team plays a critical role in supporting global finance operations, compliance, and reporting.

Role Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Accounts team at Madiba India. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, strong hands-on experience with SAP, and proficiency in MS Office tools. Equally important is a proactive attitude toward professional development — specifically, a genuine eagerness to pursue and obtain Data Protection Officer (DPO) certification, as Madiba India is growing its data governance and privacy compliance capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Manage end-to-end accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

• Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP / Ind AS.

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Support statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments; liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities as needed.

• Handle GST filings, TDS computations, advance tax calculations, and other statutory compliance requirements.

• Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and variance analysis.

• Coordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations with Madiba US, Madiba Canada, and Madiba UK entities.

SAP & Systems Management

• Execute and oversee accounting transactions within SAP (FI/CO modules), ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

• Generate financial reports and management information systems (MIS) reports via SAP.

• Collaborate with the IT/ERP team on SAP configuration, upgrades, and process improvements.

• Maintain and enforce proper controls within the SAP environment to ensure SOX-equivalent compliance.

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare detailed financial analysis and management reports using MS Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, Power Query).

• Build and maintain Excel-based financial models for budgeting, forecasting,



and scenario analysis.

• Create presentations and management decks in MS PowerPoint summarizing financial performance.

• Maintain organized records and financial documentation in MS SharePoint and Teams.

Compliance & Data Protection Readiness

- Develop and maintain a solid understanding of Information compliances with global data protection and privacy regulations or other applicable regional / International privacy requirements that impact business and financial operations.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and business stakeholders to ensure data processing activities align with applicable privacy and data protection obligations.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data privacy controls related to the collection, use, storage, transfer, retention, and disposal of personal data.
- Assist in conducting privacy impact assessments, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and internal audits for processes involving personal data.
- Serve as a liaison between the Finance function and the organization's Data Protection Officer, Privacy Office, or Compliance team on privacy-related matters.
- Following certification, act as a Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the assigned business function, providing guidance on privacy requirements and best practices.
- Support the maintenance of privacy, Information Security-related documentation, including records of processing activities, data inventories, retention schedules, and compliance evidence.
- Assist in identifying, reporting, and coordinating the response to data privacy incidents, breaches, and regulatory inquiries in accordance with corporate policies.
- Promote privacy awareness by supporting training, communication, and compliance initiatives across the business function.
- Monitor emerging privacy regulations, industry standards, and regulatory developments,



and help assess their potential impact on business operations and compliance programs

Qualifications and Experience

Education

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) from a recognized university.

• CA (Inter / Final) or CMA qualification is strongly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or consulting environment.

• Hands-on experience with SAP (FI module mandatory; CO module preferred); ability to independently execute end-to-end transactions.

• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite — advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Exposure to intercompany accounting, transfer pricing documentation, and multi-currency transactions is an advantage.

• Experience in Information Security, Data Protection, Risk, Compliance, Audit, or Information Security are desirable.

- Information Security, Data Privacy or Data Protection certifications preferred or to be obtained within an agreed timeframe

Certifications (Required / Preferred)

• SAP FI Certification — preferred; willingness to certify is acceptable.

• DPO Certification (IAPP CIPP/A, CIPM, or equivalent) — must demonstrate strong intent to obtain within 12 months of joining; company sponsorship available.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong command of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, and tax laws (GST, TDS, Income Tax).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
