Reporting To: Director

Job Purpose To manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, consumables, packaging materials, spares, and production-related items required for uninterrupted Solar PV Module manufacturing, ensuring the right quality, quantity, price, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Raw Material Procurement

- Procurement of module manufacturing materials such as:
- Solar Cells
- EVA / POE
- Back Sheet
- Glass
- Aluminium Frames
- Junction Boxes
- Ribbon / Busbar
- Sealant / Adhesive
- Flux and other module consumables
- Ensure materials are available as per production planning.

Vendor Management

- Identify and develop reliable suppliers.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate price, payment terms, MOQ, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain approved vendor list.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, price, delivery, and service.

Purchase Planning

- Review BOM, production plan, inventory, and material requirements.
- Prepare purchase plans based on production requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, PPC, QA/QC, and Finance.

Purchase Order Management

- Prepare and release Purchase Orders after approval.
- Ensure PO specifications, quantity, price, GST, delivery terms, and payment terms are correct.
- Track open POs until material receipt.

Inventory & Stock Control

- Monitor critical raw material stock levels.
- Avoid production stoppage due to material shortages.




- Coordinate with Stores for GRN and stock reconciliation.
- Monitor slow-moving and excess inventory.

Quality Coordination

- Ensure purchased materials meet approved technical specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for incoming material inspection.
- Handle rejected material, replacement, and supplier corrective actions.

Cost Control

- Negotiate competitive prices.
- Conduct price comparison and supplier benchmarking.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Delivery & Logistics

- Track supplier dispatches and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with logistics and stores for timely receipt.
- Follow up on delayed and urgent materials.

Documentation & MIS

- Maintain quotations, comparative statements, POs, vendor documents, and purchase records.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly purchase reports.
- Maintain purchase price history and vendor performance reports.

Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of Solar PV Module manufacturing materials
- Understanding of BOM and material specifications
- Strong Excel/MIS skills
- Inventory and procurement planning
- Cost analysis and price negotiation
- ERP/SAP knowledge preferred
- Positive coordination with Production, PPC, QA/QC, Stores & Finance

Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: Graduate / Diploma / B.Tech / MBA in Purchase, Supply Chain, Mechanical, Electrical or related field.
- Experience: 5–10 years in purchase/procurement, preferably in Solar PV Module Manufacturing .
- Candidates with experience in Solar Module / Renewable Energy manufacturing procurement will be preferred.
