Position Summary

Reporting to: TFIx, Director

Directly Managing: TFIx Entrepreneurs

This role is open to both full-time and part time consultancy engagements, from September 2026 to 31 March 2027, with the possibility of renewal beyond 31 March 2027, subject to organizational requirements and mutual agreement.

TFIx Program Consultant would play a crucial role by working directly with a few Entrepreneurs and their program team to build a robust program that can deliver deep outcomes for key stakeholders - fellows and students at scale. This would require, but would not be limited to, mentoring each site's Program Leads and Program Managers, strengthening Fellow and PM curriculum, and embedding data-driven decision-making practices.

The role requires you to travel on an average of 4-5 days a month.

TFIx is a critical vertical within the Teach For India organizational structure that enables the expansion of our mission and impact into India’s most marginalized and vulnerable populations and the very last mile. Its mission is to develop leaders who will transform education by reaching children in every corner of India. To enable the same, TFIx delivers a robust 3-part incubation and entrepreneurship program to cohorts of leaders on an annual basis.

The program, grown over 9+ years, has expanded to reach over 6 lakh children across 57 Fellowship programs through 70 Education Entrepreneurs and leaders, and 7000+ active Fellows. The program adopts a range of learning methods from immersive learning circles and site visits, to online and peer learning, individual mentorship, module-style skill development,



and real-life application and program delivery.

Responsibilities

As a Program Consultant at TFIx, you will:

Building team leadership at the sites (40%)

- Mentor and coach Program Leads (PLs) of identified sites through structured touchpoints - an onboarding bootcamp, fortnightly one-on-one or group calls, and regular in-person site visits.
- Build each site's orientation to Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM), including classroom observation and data (“Classroom ODC”), effective Learning & Development Journey Check-ins (LDJCs), and documentation of classroom practice.
- Support leadership team of different sites in managing and developing their Program Managers as the sites scale
- Provide differentiated contextualized support to Entrepreneurs to strengthen the Fellowship programs

Program design and curriculum (30%)

- Review and strengthen each organization's Student curriculum, Fellow curriculum, PM curriculum and Alumni strategy, in partnership with Program leads/Leadership team.
- Support the design of in-house Transformational Impact Journeys (TIJs) suited to each site's context.

Building a vision of excellence (30%)

- Help align each site's program to Teach For India's core beliefs - Joy & Safety, Student Partnership, Holistic Narrative and Transformational Leadership.




- Support the team with on-ground trainings and capacity building of the team to bring the vision alive on the ground.
- Continue to open up relevant Teach For India spaces to staff and Fellows (TIJ, TFIx PM Institute, TFI PM Induction, and similar) from these sites.

Additional Responsibilities As a Consultant at Teach For India, you will:

- Contribute to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities.
- Serve as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after committing time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply.
- Support with key organisational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, and Movement Building.

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

- Two years of Teach For India Fellowship experience preferred
- 3+ years of experience in program design, program management, or coaching / mentoring roles within the education or development sector- ideally including direct experience as a Teach For India Program Manager, Program Leader, or similar frontline leadership role.
- Previous experience in coaching and managing adults through building team culture, giving feedback, etc.
- Previous experience in designing and facilitating sessions for skill development.
- Previous experience of collaboratively working with several stakeholders.
- Comfortable working and travelling across diverse organizational contexts and cultures, as this role spans a tribal/rural Bihar context, an urban/rural Tamil Nadu context, and a marginalized-urban Maharashtra context.
