Professor – Marketing / Finance / Human Resource Management / Operations Management / Business Analytics / FinTech

Reporting To

Director – School of Business and Commerce

Role Purpose The Professor shall provide academic and intellectual leadership in the assigned discipline through excellence in teaching, research, innovation, student mentoring, industry engagement, and institutional development. The role is responsible for advancing the School's academic reputation, research productivity, industry relevance, and student outcomes while contributing to the University's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Teaching & Academic Excellence

- Deliver high-quality undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral-level courses in the assigned specialization.
- Design and update course content in line with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging business practices.
- Employ creative pedagogical approaches, case-based learning, simulations, technology-enabled teaching, and experiential learning methodologies.
- Ensure achievement of course outcomes, program outcomes, and academic quality standards.

- Research & Publications

- Conduct impactful research and publish in reputed Scopus, ABDC, Web of Science, and other recognized journals.
- Lead interdisciplinary and industry-relevant research initiatives.
- Contribute to research grants, consultancy projects, case writing, patents, and intellectual property creation.
- Enhance the University's research visibility through publications, citations, and scholarly contributions.

- Doctoral Guidance & Research Supervision

- Supervise Ph.D. scholars and research projects.
- Guide postgraduate dissertations, capstone projects, and student research activities.
- Foster a culture of research excellence and academic inquiry within the School.

- Curriculum Development & Academic Innovation

- Contribute to curriculum design, revision,



and academic program development.
- Introduce emerging concepts, technologies, tools, and industry practices into academic offerings.
- Develop electives, certifications, executive education modules, and interdisciplinary courses.

- Industry Engagement & Corporate Connect

- Build strong relationships with industry leaders, professional bodies, startups, and corporate organizations.
- Facilitate live projects, internships, consultancy assignments, guest lectures, and industry collaborations.
- Support placement initiatives and enhance student employability through industry engagement.

- Faculty Mentoring & Academic Leadership

- Mentor junior faculty members in teaching, research, and professional development.
- Lead academic committees, boards of studies, accreditation initiatives, and institutional projects.
- Contribute to policy formulation and academic governance within the School.

- Accreditation & Quality Assurance

- Support accreditation and ranking initiatives including NAAC, NIRF, NBA, AACSB, and other quality frameworks.
- Maintain academic records and documentation required for regulatory compliance and audits.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in teaching, research, and student outcomes.

- Institutional Contribution

- Participate in University committees, outreach activities, academic administration, and strategic initiatives.
- Represent the University at conferences, seminars, workshops, and professional forums.
- Contribute to institutional growth, reputation building, and stakeholder engagement.

Specialization-Specific Expectations

Marketing

- Expertise in Consumer Behaviour, Digital Marketing, Brand Management,



Marketing Analytics, Sales Management, Retail Management, or Integrated Marketing Communications.
- Strong industry and research engagement in contemporary marketing practices.

Finance
- Expertise in Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, Investment Management, Risk Management, Banking, Financial Analytics, or International Finance.
- Strong research and industry engagement in financial services and capital markets.

Human Resource Management (HRM)
- Expertise in Talent Management, Organizational Behaviour, Compensation & Benefits, Industrial Relations, Learning & Development, or HR Analytics.
- Experience in organizational consulting and HR transformation initiatives preferred.

Operations Management
- Expertise in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Strategy, Quality Management, Project Management, or Process Improvement.
- Experience in industry collaboration and operations consulting preferred.

Business Analytics
- Expertise in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Artificial Intelligence Applications, Data Visualization, and Decision Sciences.
- Proficiency in relevant analytical tools and technologies is desirable.

FinTech
- Expertise in Digital Banking, Financial Technologies, Blockchain Applications, Digital Payments, InsurTech, RegTech, Cryptocurrency Ecosystems, or Financial Innovation.
- Industry exposure in financial technology environments is preferred.

Qualification & Experience
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from a recognized University.
- Qualification and experience as prescribed by UGC/AICTE and other applicable regulatory bodies.
- Minimum 10–15 years of teaching, research, and academic experience, including experience at postgraduate and doctoral levels.
- Proven record of quality publications, doctoral guidance, funded projects, consultancy assignments, patents, case studies, or equivalent scholarly contributions.
