Job Summary

The Production / Assembly Head is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire production and assembly operations in the bearing manufacturing unit. This role ensures that manufacturing processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with production targets. The individual will lead teams, optimize processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as IATF 16949 & ISO 9001.

Key Responsibilities

- Production & Assembly Operations Management

 Oversee end-to-end production and assembly processes, ensuring smooth operations.

 Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for machining, heat treatment, assembly, and packaging.

 Ensure adherence to production plans and delivery schedules while minimizing downtime.

 Coordinate with planning, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize workflow and efficiency.

- Quality & Process Improvement

 Ensure strict compliance with product specifications and quality standards.

 Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.

 Work closely with the quality team to resolve non-conformance issues and improve defect control.

 Utilize root cause analysis to address process-related issues.

- Equipment & Resource Management

 Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, automation, and tools in production and assembly lines.

 Collaborate with the maintenance team to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment uptime.

 Evaluate and recommend new tools, automation, and technology to enhance productivity.

- Team Leadership & Training

 Lead and manage a team of production supervisors, assembly operators, and technicians.





 Conduct training programs on process optimization, safety, and quality control.

 Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Safety & Compliance

 Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and PPE usage.

 Implement ergonomic practices to reduce worker fatigue and injury risks.

 Maintain records and documentation for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant certifications.

- Reporting & Documentation

 Track production KPIs (OEE, efficiency, defect rates, rework, downtime, productivity) and report to management.

 Maintain records of production data, machine downtime, and quality issues.

 Work closely with supply chain, procurement, and quality teams to optimize material flow and reduce waste.

Key Skills & Competencies:

✅ Strong knowledge of bearing manufacturing, machining, assembly, and quality control processes.

✅ Experience in precision manufacturing, automated assembly systems, and robotics.

✅ Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and TPM (Total Productive

Maintenance).

✅ Hands-on experience with machining centers, heat treatment processes, grinding, and assembly techniques.

✅ Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.

✅ Ability to analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.

✅ Good knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

�� Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering /

Production Engineering or related fields.

�� Experience: 12+ years in bearing manufacturing / precision engineering, with at least 5 years in a mentioned role.

�� Certifications (Preferred): Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Certification.
