About the Opportunity
We are seeking to fund two PhD-level researchers/students who are interested in conducting an in-depth study of the social, relationship, behavioral, and psychological challenges affecting American society today.
The objective of this research is to better understand how changing social structures, relationships, family dynamics, cultural expectations, technology, and psychological factors are influencing individuals and communities across the United States.
We are especially interested in research that incorporates diverse perspectives, including male and female experiences, to provide a balanced understanding of contemporary social and relationship challenges.
Potential Research Areas
Research topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Marriage, divorce, and changing family structures
- Dating and modern relationship dynamics
- Psychological and emotional challenges in relationships
- Loneliness and social isolation
- Mental health and emotional well-being
- Gender perspectives and relationship expectations
- Parenting and intergenerational relationships
- Social media and technology's impact on relationships
- Work-life balance and its effect on families
- Cultural and generational changes in American society
- Conflict resolution and communication within relationships
- Community connection and changing social support systems
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive academic and field research.
- Review existing literature and identify relevant research gaps.
- Develop research questions, hypotheses, and appropriate methodologies.
- Conduct surveys, interviews, case studies, or other research activities as applicable.
- Analyze qualitative and/or quantitative research data.
- Examine social and psychological trends affecting relationships and families.
- Prepare research reports, papers, presentations, and findings.
- Collaborate with academic advisors, professionals, and other researchers.
- Maintain appropriate research ethics, confidentiality, and academic standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a PhD/Doctoral degree or preparing to undertake doctoral research in a relevant discipline.
- Academic background in Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral Science, Social Work, Counseling, Family Studies, Human Development, Anthropology, or a related field.
- Solid interest in American social, psychological, family, and relationship issues.
- Excellent research, analytical, and academic writing skills.
- Experience with qualitative or quantitative research methodologies is preferred.
- Ability to independently conduct detailed research and present meaningful findings.
- Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
Funding Research/PhD funding support will be available for selected candidates, subject to the research proposal, academic background, research scope, and mutually agreed terms.
