About the Role

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with hands-on experience in Australian payroll processing. The ideal candidate should have experience managing end-to-end payroll operations, payroll calculations, statutory deductions, superannuation, payroll reconciliations, payroll reporting, and compliance with Australian payroll requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Australian clients/entities.
- Process payroll accurately in accordance with payroll calendars and applicable statutory requirements.
- Validate employee master data, timesheets, leave records, allowances, benefits, and payroll inputs.
- Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, allowances, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Process new hires, employee changes, terminations, and final settlements.
- Calculate and process PAYG withholding and other applicable payroll deductions.
- Calculate and process superannuation contributions in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Manage leave balances and applicable leave payments.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and investigate payroll discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll journals and support month-end payroll reconciliation.
- Prepare payroll reports and statutory documentation as required.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, employees, and clients to resolve payroll-related queries.




- Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
- Support payroll audits and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Australian payroll legislation and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and operational efficiency.

Key Software Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

- ADP
- Gusto
- Xero Payroll
- MYOB
- KeyPay / Employment Hero

Experience with other Australian payroll, HRMS, or payroll processing platforms will also be considered. Payroll & Compliance Knowledge

Qualifications & Skills

- Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 3-8 years of experience in Australian Payroll, Payroll Operations, or Global Payroll.
- Hands-on experience processing Australian payroll is preferred.
- Strong understanding of PAYG withholding, superannuation, leave entitlements, payroll tax, and relevant Australian payroll requirements.
- Robust analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
