Role Description The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based at Bombay Hospital Indore. The role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, positioning patients, and operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images. The technologist will follow strict safety protocols, monitor patients during procedures, and ensure accurate documentation of imaging results and radiation doses.
Responsibilities include collaborating with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals, maintaining equipment and quality control logs, and adhering to hospital and regulatory guidelines. The technologist will also educate patients and caregivers about procedures, support productive workflow in the department, and contribute to high standards of patient care.
Qualifications
- Formal education in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related radiological sciences, with recognized certification or diploma in Nuclear Medicine.
- Proficiency in nuclear medicine imaging techniques, including preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and operation of gamma cameras and PET/CT systems.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles, dose optimization, infection control, and regulatory compliance in nuclear medicine.
- Ability to perform patient assessment, provide clear procedure explanations, and ensure patient comfort and privacy during imaging.
- Competence in maintaining imaging equipment, performing quality control checks, and accurately recording and reporting examination data.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with physicians, nurses, physicists, and other clinical staff.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to ethical, patient-centered care in a high-volume hospital environment.
- Prior experience in a hospital-based nuclear medicine department is preferred; familiarity with digital PACS and hospital information systems is an advantage.
- Willingness to work onsite in Indore, follow rotational shifts as required, and participate in ongoing professional development and training.
