Product Development Manager – Paints & Coatings

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially driven Product Development Manager to identify, evaluate and launch high-potential products in our Paints & Coatings segment. The role involves market research, import-export data analysis, product feasibility, sourcing, vendor development and end-to-end product commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze domestic and global markets using import-export, customs and trade data.
- Identify high-demand, low-supply and high-margin product opportunities.
- Conduct competitor, pricing, demand and supply-chain analysis.
- Shortlist and evaluate new product opportunities based on commercial and technical feasibility.
- Evaluate manufacturing complexity, raw material availability, regulatory requirements, costing and profitability.
- Develop low-CapEx strategies through contract manufacturing, toll manufacturing, strategic sourcing or partnerships.
- Identify and develop contract manufacturers, technology partners and raw material suppliers.
- Coordinate sampling,



trial production, pilot launches and market testing.
- Drive products from market identification → feasibility → sourcing → pilot → commercialization.
- Build a pipeline of scalable products and contribute to revenue growth.

Candidate Profile

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in Paints & Coatings, Specialty Chemicals, Construction Materials, Industrial Products, B2B Chemicals/Materials or Commodities.
- Solid understanding of import-export / customs/trade data and HS codes.
- Experience in product development, market intelligence, sourcing or commercialization.
- Strong knowledge of costing, margins, pricing and business feasibility.
- Experience in vendor development/contract manufacturing / strategic sourcing will be preferred.
- Strong analytical, commercial and execution skills.
- Willingness to travel for vendor, supplier and market visits.
- This is an individual contributor role requiring high ownership and independent decision-making.

Note: This role is focused on commercial product development and execution, not only technical/formulation R&D.;
