Role Purpose To manage and control production operations, ensure smooth shop-floor functioning, optimize manpower and resources, achieve production and quality targets, control manufacturing costs, and drive productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Shop Floor Management

- Manage day-to-day production and manufacturing operations.
- Ensure effective shop-floor control and smooth production flow.
- Monitor production plan versus actual output.
- Ensure achievement of production, yield, quality and productivity targets.
- Monitor machine uptime and process performance.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure smooth coordination between production, quality, maintenance, materials and other functions.
- Drive continuous improvement in production processes.

Manpower Planning & Management
- Plan and allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower across shifts.
- Monitor manpower productivity and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead, motivate and develop production teams.
- Conduct regular meetings with supervisors and operators.
- Identify training requirements and improve workforce skill levels.
- Monitor employee performance and support appraisal activities.

Lean Manufacturing & Productivity Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to improve process efficiency.
- Identify and implement productivity improvement initiatives.
- Drive Kaizen, PDCA and continuous improvement activities.
- Reduce process losses, rejection, rework and unnecessary activities.




- Improve machine utilization and production efficiency.
- Monitor productivity indicators and take corrective actions.
- Encourage employee participation in improvement activities.

TPM & TQM
- Drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities in coordination with the Maintenance team.
- Monitor machine availability, downtime and equipment performance.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Implement TQM (Total Quality Management) practices across production processes.
- Ensure adherence to process standards and quality requirements.
- Work closely with QA to reduce rejection and improve first-pass quality.

Quality & Root Cause Analysis
- Monitor production quality and process performance.
- Control rejection, rework and customer/internal quality issues.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring production and quality problems.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor effectiveness of countermeasures.
- Ensure timely closure of quality-related issues.
- Support process audits and continuous quality improvement.

Cost Control & Budget Planning
- Monitor and control production costs.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, machines and utilities.
- Prepare and monitor production budgets.
- Support budget planning and CAPEX activities.
- Monitor cost per unit and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Control consumable and material consumption.




- Drive initiatives to reduce manufacturing losses and operating costs.

Audit & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with production systems and organizational procedures.
- Conduct and support process and system audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Maintain required production records and documentation.
- Drive 5S and shop-floor discipline.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and secure working practices.

Safety Management
- Ensure safe working conditions on the shop floor.
- Conduct safety inspections and support safety audits.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective measures.
- Promote near-miss reporting and safety awareness.
- Ensure operators follow required safety procedures.
