What you’ll do?
Key Responsibilities
Catalytic Capital Vehicle Structuring & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end setup of debt vehicles across Africa – including development of term sheets, financial models, and governance structures.
- Drive fundraising and lead investor and lender due diligence processes from term sheet through close.
- Develop blended finance and credit enhancement structures involving DFIs, philanthropic capital, and private investors.
- Manage day-to-day program delivery for live vehicles and lead the team responsible for execution.
Structured Finance & Transaction Execution
- Structure and execute local currency debt transactions, securitizations, and portfolio financing structures across East Africa.
- Develop blended finance and credit enhancement structures involving DFIs, philanthropic capital, and private investors.
- Support issuance of local bonds, structured notes, and asset-backed facilities for partner financial institutions and fintech platforms.
- Conduct financial modelling, credit analysis, and transaction structuring for portfolio-backed financing.
Capital Raising & Investor Engagement
- Originate and cultivate relationships with local banks, pension funds, asset managers, and international impact investors.
- Prepare and present investment memoranda, credit notes, and deal structures to potential investors.
- Support investor roadshows and due diligence processes for structured transactions.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Development
- Work closely with DFIs, multilateral agencies, and development partners to mobilize capital for inclusive finance.
- Build partnerships with local financial institutions, MFIs, SACCOs, and fintech’s to structure scalable funding solutions.
- Support technical assistance programs and grant-funded initiatives that strengthen financial institutions’ credit and data capabilities.
Financial Analysis & Risk Structuring
- Apply Kaleidofin’s risk analytics and credit scoring tools to assess portfolio quality and design risk-sharing structures.
- Evaluate transaction economics,
portfolio performance metrics, and credit risk profiles.
- Develop financial models for structured lending facilities and blended finance vehicles.
Strategic Initiatives
- Contribute to market expansion strategy in East Africa, identifying opportunities for structured capital solutions.
- Support proposal development for grant funding and catalytic capital programs.
- Produce market research and investor insights related to inclusive finance and fintech lending markets.
Who you need to be ?
- 5 - 8 years of experience in impact finance, structured finance, investment banking, DFI financing, or credit markets
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is advantageous
- Experience preparing investment memos, credit papers, and investor presentations
- Strong relationship-building skills with DFIs, investors, and financial institutions
- Experience with impact investing or financial inclusion programs
- Excellent proposal writing and fundraising capability
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Passion for financial inclusion and emerging market finance
- Entrepreneurial mindset with robust ownership
- Ability to work across multicultural and cross-border teams
- Experience working in Africa’s financial markets, preferably Kenya or East Africa
- CFA Charter holder preferred
- Demonstrated experience structuring:
- Blended finance vehicles
- Strong financial modelling and credit analysis
- Good understanding of: Structured finance, Capital markets, Portfolio risk analysis, Valuation and investment structuring
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability
