Job Summary:

The role involves architecting, designing, developing, and managing scalable database solutions that support business-critical applications and the organization's Data Platform. The candidate will be responsible for optimizing and tuning existing database environments, developing new solutions, ensuring high availability, and enabling data-driven applications. Experience in modern Data Platform and Data Engineering technologies will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibility Areas:

- Architect, design, and develop scalable database solutions to support business requirements.
- Analyze, manage, and optimize distributed database environments such as PostgreSQL (preferred), Cassandra, Graph DB, and other relational/NoSQL databases.
- Provide optimal database architecture by analyzing complex production deployments and recommending solutions for scalability, performance, reliability, and availability.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality platform solutions.
- Provide innovative solutions to complex business and technology challenges.
- Design logical and physical data models following industry best practices.
- Perform database administration activities including capacity planning, performance tuning, backup & recovery, replication, security, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR/HADR).
- Lead database migration, modernization, and platform upgrade initiatives.
- Drive automation of database operations, deployments,



monitoring, and maintenance.
- Mentor and train junior engineers while leading and managing database engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Data Platform team to enable efficient data pipelines and analytical workloads.

Qualification: B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology.

Experience:

- 5 to 10 years of experience in Database Engineering, Database Administration, or Database Architecture roles.

Must Have Skills

- Experience in designing and architecting scalable database solutions.
- Hands-on experience with multiple RDBMS and NoSQL databases handling TB-scale data, preferably PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Graph DB.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, SQL, and query optimization techniques.
- Expert knowledge of database installation, configuration, replication, backup & recovery, upgrades, security, clustering, and HA/DR (HADR) setup.
- Experience in database deployment, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL will be preferred.
- Positive understanding of data modelling, indexing, partitioning, and database performance optimization.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Good-To-Have Skills:

- Experience with cloud platforms and managed database services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience in database migration across platforms and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python.
- Exposure to automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps practices will be an advantage.
- Experience with Data Engineering technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, ETL/ELT pipelines, Data Warehousing, or Big Data technologies will be an added advantage.
- Experience with Data Platform architecture and modern data ecosystems will be a plus.
- Hands-on experience with AI/GenAI tools in at least one project or use case.
