Leading Wind Energy Company Looking out Lead Engineer, System Value Optimization-(S) New Products (Wind Turbine Loads/NPI/Simpack), Bangalore
Summary (4 Days work from Office)
The vision of the SVO- New Products team is to create robust yet cost-effective wind turbine product designs by providing best-in-class system value optimization, load assessment, validation, methods, and tools.
As a SVO lead engineer, you will perform system value optimization work, deliver loads and cosims, prepare certification documentation, support method/standard work development, and develop the loads toolchain.
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform system value optimization
- Perform system value optimization work, making trade-offs in the loads, stability, operation, and performance of the product.
- Perform feasibility studies and develop tech charts.
Deliver NPI/DTO Loads
- Prepare loads inputs, create the simulation model, execute loads simulations, and perform post processing.
- Perform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checks.
- Hand off model and controller parameters to MLA
- Update load envelopes
Prepare load certification docs
- Prepare certification load packages and documentation.
- Support developing technical strategy to address questions from certification bodies.
- Support conversations with certification body as needed to address questions.
- Prepare documentation to address question from certification bodies.
Deliver cosims
- Prepare co-simulation for validation activities for prototype and fleet leader validation.
- Resolve gaps seen between simulations and field measurement.
Develop methods and standard work
- Develop advancements in load methods.
- Help develop DP updates with CTH.
- Develop standard work updates.
Develop loads tool chain
- Develop improvements to the pre and post processing toolchain.
Project/Fleet Support
- Provide SVO related project support.
- Help develop technical frameworks for non-standard work.
Overarching
- Coordinate with the System integration team on project plans and strategies.
- Prepare and support design reviews.
- Prepare technical underwriting documents to support design reviews.
- Assess risk and develop mitigation strategies.
- Update loads DFMEA.
- Lead lean and industrialization initiatives.
Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :
1. Looking for candidates with Wind Turbine Loads & NPI Experience
- Next Generation Wind turbine/ New Products/ NPI/ New Platform Development
Not open for candidates with Mechanical Loads Assessment Experience
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. + 5 yrs experience in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university (or equivalent)
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in preparing loads for wind turbines.
- Experience in root cause analysis
- Experience in Systems Engineering for wind turbines.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills for complex problems.
- Robust oral and written communication skills, clarity of thought, and ability to defend a technical position.
- Master of Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering
