Strong software engineering fundamentals (distributed systems, APIs, data modeling)

Experience building scalable backend systems in languages like Java, Go, or similar

Familiarity with data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Spark, data lakes, warehouses)

Experience with access control models (RBAC/ABAC) and security best practices

Understanding of metadata, data lineage, or data governance concepts (or strong interest in the space)

Experience building automation and platform capabilities (not just one-off pipelines)

Comfortable working across systems and driving cross-platform integrations

Solid problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, reliability, and usability
