Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Java Application Support Engineer with a strong SRE mindset to join our Bangalore engineering team. In this role, you will act as the primary guardian of our production environment, balancing proactive system reliability engineering with reactive application support. You will collaborate closely with software development teams and infrastructure engineers to troubleshoot complex production issues, automate manual recovery processes, and ensure our Java-based services meet stringent uptime requirements.

Your work will directly influence the stability of our platforms, ensuring a seamless experience for our end users and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain high-availability Java applications by diagnosing performance bottlenecks and resolving production incidents to minimize downtime.
- Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices by automating routine operational tasks and creating self-healing mechanisms for our production environment.




- Monitor system health and application performance metrics using observability tools to proactively identify and mitigate potential failures before they impact the business.
- Execute complex SQL queries to perform data analysis, troubleshoot database-related issues, and ensure data integrity across our service layers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring incidents and drive long-term architectural improvements.
- Maintain and optimize monitoring dashboards and alerting configurations to ensure accurate visibility into system performance and service-level objectives.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in supporting and troubleshooting enterprise-grade Java applications within high-traffic production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting for automation and system administration tasks.
- Advanced capability in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data extraction and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring stacks, specifically Splunk for log aggregation and Grafana for visualizing performance metrics.
- Proven ability to apply SRE principles to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, collaborative environment based in Bangalore, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
- A minimum of 6 - 8 years of professional experience in application support or SRE roles.
