HR Lead

Luma is building the future of fertility care in India — patient-first, tech-enabled, and unapologetically different from the clinical, impersonal experience that defines the category today. Backed by Peak XV, founded by a second-time entrepreneur who has built and scaled before, Luma is past the idea stage and into the work of building a real organization around a real mission: better, more human healthcare for women, at scale.

This role builds the people function from the ground up, inside a company trying to change what fertility care looks like in this country.

What this role actually is

Someone who can go from zero to one. You’ve built policy from nothing, set up payroll, made hiring work under real pressure. This is a hands-on operator role — you do the work, not just direct others to do it. You’ll manage a small, growing team of your own.

You’ll also design how the organization runs as it grows: clear roles, KRAs that mean something, a real sense of what good performance looks like at each level, and outcomes tied to the business as Luma expands into new clinics. Managing HR across a lean central team and a distributed, multi-clinic footprint is core to this role, not an edge case.

What you’ll own





- HR infrastructure — policy, process, and systems built from scratch
- Payroll and compliance, run cleanly and on time
- Hiring — sourcing, screening, and closing roles fast, across head office and clinical functions
- Organization design — role clarity, KRAs, and performance frameworks that hold up as the company scales across multiple clinics
- Training and learning calendars, including clinical staff training
- Employee engagement across a central team and a clinic floor with a different operating rhythm
- Onboarding and the day-to-day discipline that keeps a growing, multi-location team functioning

What we’re looking for

Real experience building HR inside an early-stage, scaling startup, run lean and hands-on. Healthcare, fertility care or clinic-floor HR experience is a robust plus and will be prioritized.
