HR SPOC — Recruitment, Training & HR Processes

Designation: Flexible – depending on experience

Location: Shishya School, BEML Layout, Bengaluru (Trust Head Office)

Reports To: Chief of Staff

Role Type: Full-time, Single Point of Contact

(SPOC) — Human Resources Experience ~3–4 years, generalist HR

Stipend: 6 LPA or more depending on cultural fit and experience

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Sri Krishna Education Trust (Shishya Schools & Minerva Colleges) is looking for a hands-on HR professional to be the single owner of the Trust's people function — recruitment, onboarding, training & development, and day-to-day HR processes across all schools and colleges. This is an individual-contributor, generalist HR role reporting to the Chief of Staff, working closely with school leadership, principals, academic heads, and administration to build a strong, well-trained, and well-governed workforce across the Trust's institutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Recruitment: Own end-to-end recruitment for teaching and non-teaching staff across the Trust — manpower planning, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer rollout, and closure within agreed timelines.

● Build and maintain a talent pipeline for recurring/seasonal hiring needs (new academic year, admissions season) in coordination with principals and department heads.

● Design and run a structured onboarding and induction programme for recent joiners, ensuring smooth integration into the Trust's culture and processes.

● Training & Development: Plan, coordinate, and track the annual training & development calendar for teaching and non-teaching staff, including pedagogy, compliance, safety, and soft-skills programmes.

● Identify training needs in consultation with academic leadership and external experts/agencies, and manage the training budget.

● Maintain training records, feedback,

and effectiveness tracking for all programmes conducted across schools and colleges.

● HR Processes & Compliance: Own core HR processes end-to-end — attendance, leave management, payroll inputs, performance appraisals, HRMS/employee records, and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, etc.).

● Draft and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and SOPs; ensure consistent application across all Trust institutions.

● Handle employee relations — grievance redressal, disciplinary processes, exit interviews, and full-and-final settlements.

● Reporting & Governance: Track HR metrics (attrition, time-to-hire, training coverage) and report to leadership on a monthly basis.

● Coordinate with external agencies/consultants (recruitment, payroll, compliance, training) as needed, and manage the HR budget responsibly.

● Act as the first point of contact for any HR query, escalation, or people-related issue across the Trust's institutions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

● Hands-on experience across the full recruitment lifecycle — job postings, sourcing (portals, referrals, agencies), screening, and offer management.

● Working knowledge of HRMS/payroll systems and MS Office/Google Workspace for HR reporting and documentation.

● Sound understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance applicable to educational institutions (PF, ESI, POSH, Shops & Establishments, etc.).

● Experience designing and delivering (or coordinating) training programmes,

including training needs analysis and feedback measurement.

● Familiarity with performance management systems and appraisal cycles.

● Comfortable maintaining accurate, audit-ready employee records and documentation.

BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS:

● High energy, self-starter who takes ownership of the people agenda without needing constant supervision.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable interacting with teachers, staff, parents, and leadership.

● Empathetic yet firm — able to balance employee welfare with institutional discipline and process rigour.

● Reliable and flexible — willing to travel across campuses and be present during peak hiring/training periods.

● Detail-oriented with good judgement on confidential and sensitive HR matters.

● Collegial team player who can work across departments (academics, admissions, admin, finance) with minimal friction.

● Calm under pressure — able to manage sensitive employee issues or urgent staffing needs quickly and sensibly.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

● MBA/PG Diploma in HR, or equivalent; certification in Labour Law/Compliance is a plus.

● ~3–4 years of relevant generalist HR experience, ideally spanning recruitment, training, and core HR operations (education sector experience preferred but not mandatory).

● Demonstrated experience managing HR for a multi-location/multi-unit setup is a significant advantage.

WHAT THE TRUST OFFERS:

● A high-ownership, purpose-driven HR charter across the Trust's schools and colleges, with direct visibility to leadership and the opportunity to build people processes from the ground up.

To apply, write in with your CV and a short note on your approach to building HR processes in a multi-institution education setup.
