Role Description The Head of Department of Computer Science will lead and manage the academic and technical direction of the department, ensuring alignment with CTPL’s EdTech vision and institutional goals. This full-time, on-site role, based in Mohali district, involves overseeing curriculum design, integrating industry-relevant technologies, and fostering innovation in teaching and learning.

The role includes supervising faculty and technical staff, mentoring team members, and coordinating departmental projects related to software development, enterprise architecture, and digital transformation initiatives. The Head of Department will collaborate with leadership, partner institutions,



and cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of outcomes. Additional responsibilities include setting performance standards, driving research and industry collaborations, and maintaining high academic and professional standards within the department.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Software Development skills, with experience in contemporary programming languages, frameworks, and best practices.
- Candidates should possess Team Management and Team Leadership skills to guide faculty and technical staff, build high-performing teams, and foster a collaborative culture.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including planning, execution, risk management, and delivery of academic and technical initiatives.
- Candidates should possess Enterprise Architecture skills to design scalable, secure, and robust technology solutions aligned with CTPL’s EdTech platforms.
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; a doctoral degree is an advantage.
- Prior experience in academic leadership or heading a department in higher education, preferably with exposure to EdTech or digital transformation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with institutional partners and internal leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate industry trends into curriculum, promote research, and support student-focused innovation and outcomes.
