Role Description The Head, Merchant Banking (IPOs) is a full-time, in office leadership role based in Mumbai, responsible for driving SintraCap’s IPO and equity capital markets franchise. This position oversees origination and execution of IPO mandates, including deal structuring, valuation analysis, regulatory documentation, and coordination with issuers, regulators, stock exchanges, legal advisers, and other intermediaries. The role involves leading pitch development, managing client relationships, supervising due diligence, and ensuring high-quality delivery of prospectuses and offer documents.

The Head will manage and mentor the merchant banking team, set performance goals, and ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk and compliance standards. The role also includes monitoring market trends, identifying new business opportunities,



and contributing to the firm’s overall strategic direction in capital markets.

Qualifications

- Strong merchant banking and capital markets expertise, with substantial experience leading IPO and equity issuance transactions end-to-end.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and transaction structuring, including building and reviewing financial models and deal terms.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian securities regulations, SEBI guidelines, listing requirements, and IPO documentation and compliance processes.
- Demonstrated client relationship management skills, including stakeholder coordination, negotiation, and presentation to senior corporate leadership.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with experience mentoring professionals and overseeing multi-disciplinary deal teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear investor materials, pitch books, and regulatory documents.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on risk management and governance.
- Postgraduate degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as CFA, CA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an investment bank, merchant bank, or capital markets advisory firm, preferably in Mumbai or major financial centers.
- High level of professional ethics, resilience under pressure, and willingness to work extended hours during live transactions when required.
