Role Description The Hatchery Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sangli.

The Hatchery

Manager will oversee day-to-day hatchery operations, including planning and monitoring egg incubation, supervising staff, ensuring biosecurity and hygiene standards, and managing chick quality and output. This role involves coordinating with breeding farms and feed units, maintaining accurate production records, and implementing best practices for animal health and welfare.

Manager will work closely with quality assurance and veterinary teams to minimize disease risk, optimize hatchability, and meet production targets.



Additional responsibilities include managing inventory, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company policies, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

Qualifications

- Solid hatchery operations and poultry management skills, including experience with incubation processes, chick quality control, and biosecurity practices.
- Knowledge of animal health, welfare standards, and basic poultry disease prevention, with the ability to work effectively with veterinary and diagnostic teams.
- Operational planning, record-keeping, and data analysis skills to monitor production metrics, inventory, and resource utilization.
- Team leadership and people management abilities, including staff scheduling, training, performance monitoring, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and meeting production timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a commercial hatchery or poultry operation, especially in a supervisory or managerial role, is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working on-site in Sangli and collaborating with cross-functional teams across breeding, feed, processing, and sales functions.
