Job Summary
We are looking for a Hardware & Networking Technical Assistant to support our IT infrastructure and assist senior technical staff in maintaining hardware, networking, servers, connectivity, and end-user systems.
This is a hands-on, on-site role involving system maintenance, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, network equipment configuration, workstation setup, and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
System & Hardware Maintenance
- Clean and maintain PCs, servers, routers, switches, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Perform regular physical cleaning and dust-free upkeep of systems.
- Inspect RAM, HDD/SSD, cables, power connections, and other hardware components.
- Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and replacement when required.
- Set up and configure new desktops, laptops, and workstations.
- Assist with server, UPS, and power-backup maintenance.
- Coordinate the delivery and installation of new laptops and IT equipment.
Networking & Connectivity
- Inspect, label, organize, and maintain Ethernet cables and network ports.
- Perform Cat6 cabling, cable crimping, IO port punching, and patch-panel organization.
- Test LAN connectivity using ping, tracert/traceroute, and other diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshoot faulty network cables, ports, and connectivity issues.
- Diagnose basic WAN and internet connectivity problems.
- Verify correct LAN/WAN port connections.
- Assist with Cisco L2/L3 switch configuration and maintenance.
- Assist with Cisco and Aruba router configuration and maintenance.
- Configure and manage Wi-Fi access points.
- Assist with VPN, domain, firewall, and network-security management.
Server & Software Support
- Assist with installation and maintenance of in-house servers.
- Install and configure software according to development and technology requirements.
- Provide remote system management and configuration support.
- Support Windows and Linux-based systems.
Technical Support
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues reported by employees.
- Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and recurring technical problems.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve system and network outages.
- Provide technical assistance to clients when required.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on understanding of Ethernet networking and LAN/WAN concepts.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, VPN, LAN, and WAN.
- Basic understanding of switches, routers, Wi-Fi, access points, and network cabling.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to use basic networking diagnostic commands such as ping and tracert/traceroute.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and proper documentation habits.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Technical Exposure Candidates with knowledge or training in the following will be preferred:
- Cisco L2/L3 switches and routers
- Aruba networking equipment
- VMware / Hyper-V
- Windows Server
- Linux / Ubuntu / CentOS
- AWS / Azure / Google Cloud / OpenStack
- Wireshark
- Nagios
- Nessus
- Endpoint security tools
- Norton Ghost / system imaging
Candidate Eligibility
- Diploma / Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Networking, or a related field.
- Freshers with relevant Hardware & Networking training and a valid course/training certificate can apply.
- Candidates with prior hardware/networking experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Must have a practical understanding of basic hardware and networking concepts.
- Kannada language proficiency is preferred
- Knowledge of English and/or Tamil will be an advantage.
- Candidates below 25 years of age are preferred.
- Candidates from Karnataka will be preferred.
- Candidates from other South Indian states may also be considered.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Must be willing to work on-site in Bangalore.
- Minimum 1-year commitment is required.
Salary & Accommodation
- Salary: ₹21,000 per month
- Accommodation will be provided if required by the candidate.
- Accommodation is subject to company availability and applicable company terms.
- Food will not be provided.
- Candidates who already have their own accommodation in Bangalore may also apply.
Important Job Conditions
- Work from home is not available.
- Working days: Monday to Saturday (6 days per week).
- Duty hours: 8 hours per day.
- Minimum 1-year commitment is required.
- The position is based at the company's Bangalore office.
