Job Purpose To support development, optimization, and improvement of drymix construction chemical products by working on formulations, raw material evaluation, trials, and performance testing, ensuring products meet market, cost, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Formulation

- Develop and optimize formulations for drymix products such as:
- Tile Adhesives (C1 / C2 / C2TES1, etc.)
- Wall Putty
- Waterproofing mortars
- Repair mortars, plasters & grouts

- Conduct lab-scale and plant-scale trials for new and existing products
- Ensure balance between performance, cost, and process feasibility

1. Raw Material Evaluation

- Evaluate new raw materials like cement grades, sand, fillers, polymers, additives
- Perform compatibility and performance testing
- Support alternate vendor development to reduce cost and ensure availability

1. Testing & Validation

- Conduct performance testing as per IS / ASTM / EN standards, including:
- Adhesion strength
- Open time, slip & pot life
- Water retention
- Compressive & flexural strength
- Setting time and workability

- Prepare trial reports, validation documents, and product specifications

1. Process & Cost Optimization





- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce formulation cost
- Work closely with Production & QC to resolve batch and consistency issues
- Assist in standardization of formulations and SOPs

1. Technical Support & Coordination

- Provide technical inputs to Sales, Technical Services, and Customer Complaints team
- Support field trials and site performance feedback
- Assist in root cause analysis for quality or application-related issues

1. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain detailed R&D; documentation, formulations, test methods, and reports
- Ensure compliance with ISO systems and internal R&D; protocols
- Support audits and management reviews

1. Team & Lab Management

- Guide R&D; executives / chemists in lab activities
- Ensure lab safety, calibration of equipment, and material availability

Key Skills & Competencies

- Robust understanding of drymix construction chemical chemistry
- Hands-on formulation and testing experience
- Knowledge of IS / ASTM / EN standards
- Analytical, problem-solving, and cost-optimization mindset
- Good coordination with cross-functional teams

Qualification

- M.Sc (Chemistry) / B.Sc (Chemistry)
- B.Tech / M.Tech – Chemical / Civil Engineering (preferred)

Experience

- 5–8 years of R&D; experience in drymix / construction chemicals / cement-based products
