Position Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Industrial Civil Construction

Department: Operations / Projects

Reporting To: Managing Director / Board of Directors

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and oversee industrial construction projects across multiple locations. The candidate will be responsible for managing client complete project operations involving specialized structures such as chimneys, prilling towers, silos, cooling towers and other industrial construction works. The COO will ensure timely project execution, operational excellence, quality compliance, resource management, and client satisfaction while driving organizational growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all construction operations across multiple project sites.
- Oversee execution of specialized industrial structures including chimneys, prilling towers, silos, cooling tower, RCC structures, and heavy civil construction projects.
- Monitor project planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, resource management and delivery within defined timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and financial resources.
- Coordinate with project heads, consultants, vendors, and clients for smooth project execution.
- Review project progress reports, identify operational risks, and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to project teams across different locations.
- Develop operational policies, project execution strategies, and performance improvement plans.
- Handle client meetings, project reviews, commercial discussions, and high-level coordination.
- Drive productivity, cost optimization,



and operational efficiency across all ongoing projects.
- Support business development activities by providing technical and operational inputs during tendering and project planning stages.
- Mentor and guide project managers, engineers, and operational staff for organizational growth.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong expertise in industrial and heavy civil construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of chimney construction, prilling towers, silos, RCC structures, Cooling Towers and industrial infrastructure.
- Excellent project management, operational planning, and execution capabilities.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering practices, and project controls.
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously across different locations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-handling skills.
- Robust understanding of safety regulations, quality standards, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in project management tools, MIS reporting, and operational monitoring systems.

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering mandatory.

Master’s Degree in Construction Management / Project Management preferred.

Experience

Minimum 15+ years of experience in civil construction and heavy civil projects.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a COO / senior operational leadership role in civil construction projects.
