Job Title: Dialysis Technician

Location: Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, Dehradun

Key Responsibilities:

Dialysis Treatment:

- Set up and operate dialysis machines for both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures.
- Prepare patients for dialysis by ensuring proper positioning and administering prescribed medications.
- Monitor patients throughout the procedure, checking vital signs and ensuring the treatment is effective and safe.
- Assess the condition of the patients access points (arteriovenous fistulas, grafts, or catheters) before, during, and after treatment.
- Adjust dialysis equipment as necessary during the treatment process.

Patient Care and Safety:

- Provide compassionate care and support to patients undergoing dialysis, ensuring they are comfortable and informed about their treatment.
- Respond quickly to any patient emergencies or complications that may arise during dialysis, following established protocols.
- Maintain high standards of infection control, cleanliness, and patient safety throughout the dialysis unit.

Machine Maintenance and Calibration:

- Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of dialysis machines and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are maintained according to safety and quality standards.
- Report any malfunctions or required repairs to the relevant department promptly.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:





- Maintain accurate and detailed records of each dialysis session, including treatment parameters, patient responses, and any complications.
- Input data into electronic health records (EHR) systems for patient tracking and follow-up care.
- Coordinate with nephrologists and nurses to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with the nephrology team to coordinate dialysis schedules and treatments.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and treatment outcomes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and dialysis unit efficiency.

Qualifications:

- Education: Diploma or Certification in Dialysis Technology from a recognized institute.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Dialysis Technician in a hospital or dialysis center is preferred but not mandatory.

- Skills:
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting dialysis machines.
- Robust understanding of renal physiology and the dialysis process.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Technical Expertise:

- In-depth knowledge of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures.
- Ability to monitor and interpret vital signs during dialysis.
- Familiarity with infection control practices in a medical setting.
