Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and creative Design & Development Manager to lead the complete product and design development lifecycle from concept to production. The role involves managing design teams, developing production-ready solutions, driving innovation, improving product functionality, coordinating cross-functional execution, and ensuring commercially viable and manufacturable outputs aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

1. Lead end-to-end product design and development activities from concept to final production release.
2. Manage and supervise the design team to ensure timely delivery of design outputs and project milestones.
3. Develop innovative, cost-effective, and production-feasible product solutions.
4. Review and approve conceptual designs, technical drawings, prototypes, and final design documentation.
5. Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, sales, and project teams for seamless execution.
6. Establish design standards, SOPs, and development processes across projects.
7. Drive new product development (NPD), product enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Ensure preparation and approval of working drawings, production drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

Conduct design feasibility reviews considering manufacturing capability, installation, and cost optimization.
10. Lead prototype development, testing, validation, and final product approvals.
11. Monitor material selection, hardware specifications, finish standards, and technical compliance.
12. Manage project timelines, development schedules, and resource allocation.
13. Optimize product designs to improve quality, reduce cost, and minimize material wastage.
14. Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand design requirements and convert them into executable solutions.
15. Monitor market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
16. Maintain design documentation, revision control, and project records.
17. Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
18. Mentor and develop team capabilities through training and technical guidance.
