Role & responsibilities The Design Head will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all design-related aspects of the Hotel renovation and the ongoing Commercial project. This role requires balancing creativity with technical precision, ensuring design excellence, compliance with brand standards, and alignment with organizational objectives. The incumbent will act as the central liaison between stakeholders, international consultants of interiors and design, contractors, and the executive leadership team, while also driving product development initiatives that enhance project value.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

- Define and drive the design vision for hospitality and commercial projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead design development from concept to execution, maintaining brand identity and international standards.
- Provide leadership in design innovation, sustainability, and functionality.

Project Oversight

- Oversee architectural, interior, faade, and landscape design.

• Hotel renovation.
- Direct design coordination for the ongoing commercial project, including office, retail, and mixed-use areas.
- Ensure all design deliverables meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Product Development

- Spearhead product development initiatives in interiors, finishes, and design elements to elevate project outcomes.
- Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to integrate creative products and materials.
- Align product development with sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and brand positioning.

Stakeholder & Consultant Management

- Collaborate with international consultants of interiors and design to bring global

• expertise, innovation, and benchmarking standards.
- Coordinate with JV partners, consultants, and contractors to resolve design issues and ensure timely approvals.




- Present design progress and critical updates to MD/CEO and Board.
- Maintain strong relationships with hotel operators and commercial tenants to align design with operational needs.

Process & Compliance

- Establish and monitor design documentation protocols, drawing logs, and issue resolution matrices.
- Ensure compliance with statutory approvals, building codes, and sustainability certifications.
- Drive adherence to project schedules and budgets through proactive design management.

Team Leadership

- Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary design team.
- Foster a collaborative culture across internal teams and external consultants.
- Conduct regular design reviews and workshops to ensure quality and innovation.

Financial & Commercial Alignment

- Support contracts and procurement teams in design-related vendor selection and negotiations.

- Provide inputs for cost optimization without compromising design integrity.
- Ensure timely certification of design-related vendor bills and approvals.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong leadership and communication skills with board-facing experience.
- Expertise in hospitality and commercial design, with proven track record in large-scale projects.
- Experience in product development and integration of innovative design solutions.
- Ability to balance creativity, functionality, and compliance.
- Proficiency in design software, project management tools, and documentation processes.
- Strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving ability.

Qualifications

- Bachelors/Masters degree in Architecture or Interior Design.

• 15+ years of experience in design leadership roles, preferably in hospitality and commercial projects.
- Prior experience in renovation of luxury hotels and execution of large-scale commercial developments.
- Proven exposure to international consultants of interiors and design and product development collaborations.
