:

A. Key Performance Areas

- Design, development and prototyping of new parts and products as per given priorities
- Assist in developing manufacturing process and required test set up for new products
- Initiate changes for cost effectiveness and product improvements
- Develop and secure approval on the product documentation (Technical Drawing, BOM, Product manual, Data Sheet, etc) for new products

B. & Responsibilities

● Design, development of recent parts and products as per organization’s priorities

● Prepare and test the prototypes as per approved concepts

● Secure acceptance of the final design and confirm appropriate production process

● Develop timelines and cost estimates for development tasks and appraise management of performance against plan

● Provide input into the creation/ modification of Product Specifications, product manuals – installation, repair and maintenance manuals,

● Mapping of Product Development process to reflect cost optimization objectives.

● Responsible for upgrading of existing product designs to reflect changing requirements of various standards (BSI, EN, ANSI)





● Assist in vendor development process for adopting new manufacturing methods

C. Candidate Profile

● Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering / degree in Product Design

● 10 - 12 years of experience in product development in engineering companies

● Knowledge of materials (metals / plastics) and manufacturing processes

● Knowledge and experience of Engineering /Product Design documentation and compliance documentation as per ANSI, EN, BIS and ISO 9001 system procedures

● Proficiency in AutoCAD and any 3-D modeling software (Solidworks)

● Understanding and knowledge of various Welding processes & Sheet metal fabrication, CNC Machining and other metal working process

● Experience of designing injection moulded parts or experience of designing the mould

● Exposure of instrumentation, electricals will be added advantage

● Demonstrated methodical approach to design process and experience of taking a product from design to launch stage
