Role Description The Database Administrator (DBA) will manage, maintain, and optimize the databases that power HummingBird’s AI-driven talent platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity. This full-time hybrid role is based in Recent Delhi, with a mix of onsite and work-from-home flexibility.

Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring database performance, configuring and tuning databases, managing backups and recovery plans, and overseeing replication and clustering to support scalability and reliability. The DBA will troubleshoot database-related issues, implement security best practices,



and collaborate with engineering and data teams on database design, schema changes, and query optimization. The role also involves supporting integrations with external ATS/VMS systems, contributing to automation of database operations, and documenting standards, procedures, and configurations.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Experience in Database Design, schema modeling, and optimization of database structures for performance and scalability.
- Competence in Troubleshooting database issues, including performance tuning, query optimization, and incident resolution.
- Hands-on experience with Replication and high-availability strategies such as clustering, failover, and disaster recovery.
- Proficiency with at least one major RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and familiarity with NoSQL systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and database security best practices (access control, encryption, compliance).
- Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and using infrastructure-as-code or automation tools for database operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and document processes thoroughly.
