Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize 2D CNC programs for VMC machines based on engineering drawings.
- Perform machine setup, tooling selection, offset setting, and prove-out of CNC programs.
- Modify and improve existing programs to achieve optimum machining efficiency.
- Ensure proper fixture setup and machine readiness before production runs.
- Support production teams in resolving machining-related issues.
- Plan and monitor daily machining activities to achieve production targets.
- Coordinate with production supervisors and operators for smooth workflow.
- Monitor machine utilization and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments.
- Supervise CNC operators and setters on the shop floor.
- Allocate manpower based on production requirements.
- Train operators on machine operation, quality requirements, safety practices, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate operator performance and support skill development initiatives.
- Participate in current product development and prototype manufacturing activities.
- Develop machining processes, tooling concepts, fixtures, and CNC programs for new components.
- Conduct trial runs and process validation for new products.
- Coordinate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams during product development stages.
Required Skills & Technical Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of VMC programming using Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
- Expertise in 2D CNC programming and machine setting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and tolerance requirements.
- Knowledge of Production Monitoring Systems (PMS) and machine performance tracking tools.
- Process drawing op10 and op20s
- Fixture developed for inhouse testing assembly and manufacturing
- Analyze machining processes to reduce cycle time without compromising quality.
- Optimize cutting parameters, tooling, and machining strategies.
- Implement productivity improvement projects to increase output and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Monitor and improve machine productivity through continuous process improvements.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap levels in machining operations.
- Investigate quality issues and perform root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA methodologies.
Key skills:-
- Strong knowledge of VMC programming using Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
- Expertise in 2D CNC programming and machine setting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and tolerance requirements.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and machining processes.
- Understanding of process capability, SPC, and quality control techniques.
- Experience in cycle time reduction and productivity improvement.
- Familiarity with hydraulic coupling component machining.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and TPM.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in hydraulic couplings, hydraulic components, automotive components, precision machining, or industrial manufacturing.
- Freshers with strong academic knowledge and industrial training may also be considered for junior positions.
