Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with 2–3 years of post-qualification experience to support litigation and assessment matters, and to manage day-to-day statutory compliance under GST, Income Tax, and RBI/FEMA frameworks. The role requires strong drafting and documentation discipline, the ability to liaise directly with tax and regulatory authorities, and close coordination with the VP – Finance and the legal team on notices, assessments, and appeals.

1. Litigation & Assessment Support

- Assist in handling scrutiny assessments, reassessment proceedings, and notices under the Income Tax Act and GST law, including notices from the Investigation Wing / DGGI where applicable.
- Prepare replies, submissions, adjournment letters, and supporting documentation for assessment and appellate proceedings (CIT(A), GSTAT, and equivalent forums).
- Compile and index case records, evidence, and reconciliations required for hearings; coordinate with external counsel/consultants and accompany them for hearings as needed.
- Track notice/order due dates, maintain a litigation tracker (case status, forum, next action, timelines), and flag exposure to the VP – Finance.
- Support drafting of appeals, rectification applications, and rebuttals with accurate factual and legal backing.

2. GST Compliance

- Prepare and review monthly/quarterly/annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR 9/9C) and reconcile with books and GSTR-2B/2A.
- Manage GST refund applications, e-way bill compliance, and input tax credit reconciliation.
- Respond to GST department queries, audits, and notices (ASMT, DRC series)



within statutory timelines.

3. Income Tax Compliance

- Prepare and review advance tax computations, TDS/TCS returns, and corporate income tax return filings.
- Support tax audit (Form 3CD) documentation and coordinate with statutory/tax auditors.
- Maintain lower/nil deduction certificate applications and Form 15CA/15CB coordination where relevant.

4. RBI / FEMA Compliance

- Assist with FEMA/RBI filings and reporting relevant to cross-border transactions (e.g., FC-GPR, FLA, ODI/FDI reporting) in coordination with the VP – Finance.
- Support documentation for cross-border remittances, ECBs, or overseas investment structuring, ensuring alignment with RBI master directions.

5. Documentation & Records Management

- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all litigation, assessment, and compliance matters (physical and digital records).
- Standardize templates for submissions, reconciliations, and management reporting on litigation/compliance status.
- Ensure version control and confidentiality of sensitive tax, legal, and regulatory documents.

6. General

- Coordinate with internal finance, legal, and business teams to gather information required for filings and assessments.




- Keep track of regulatory/legal updates (GST, Income Tax, RBI/FEMA, ROC) and assess impact on the organization.
- Support internal and statutory audits with schedules, reconciliations, and query resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Strong working knowledge of GST law, Income Tax Act, and RBI/FEMA regulations.
- Prior exposure to assessment/litigation matters (departmental notices, hearings, appeal drafting) is highly preferred.
- Excellent drafting skills for replies, submissions, and correspondence with tax/regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; working knowledge of accounting/compliance software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, or similar) and GST/Income Tax portals.
- Solid analytical ability, attention to detail, and organizational discipline in documentation.
- Good communication skills to liaise with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines and work independently under supervision of the VP – Finance.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

- Chartered Accountant (ICAI), full-time qualification.
- 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in industry or practice, with meaningful exposure to GST/Income Tax compliance and assessment/litigation support.
- Prior experience in a CA firm, corporate tax/finance function, or legal-compliance team will be an advantage.

- External: Statutory Auditors, Tax Consultants/Counsel, GST & Income Tax Department Officials, RBI/AD Bankers (as applicable)
