Expansion Partners works at the intersection of technology, energy markets and project development. We're looking for a business analyst who can understand biofuels projects end-to-end — from feedstock to final molecule — and challenge assumptions across the value chain.

What you'll do

- Get to grips with the key biofuels technologies: fermentation, gasification, Fischer–Tropsch, methanol synthesis, pyrolysis, upgrading
- Compare pathways and their impact on CAPEX, OPEX, yields, energy balance and feedstock needs
- Analyse feedstock markets — availability, cost, logistics, sustainability, seasonality
- Read the biofuels markets: biomethane, ethanol, SAF, renewable methanol, biodiesel
- Assess offtake counterparties on pricing, credit, strategy and bankability
- Connect the full value chain into a coherent investment view





What we're looking for

Someone analytically rigorous, fast-learning and intellectually curious, comfortable moving across engineering, commodities, finance and project development.

You don't need to know everything on day one — but you must be able to learn quickly, structure complex systems, and form clear, defensible views.

The goal is straightforward: work out which biofuels projects can actually be built, financed and sold.
