Role: AI & Fabric Analytics Specialist with Power BI Backup Capability
Location Bangalore (Locals)
Experience: 2+ yrs
Role Overview
Ethics & Compliance function is looking for a contract resource to drive AI-enabled automation and Microsoft Fabric-based analytics engineering for the Global Ethics & Compliance function. This role will focus on building AI-assisted workflows (using tools like Claude) to improve data processing, quality checks, reporting efficiency, and even dashboard/visualization creation, alongside preparing data and building semantic models within Microsoft Fabric. Power BI report development is a secondary responsibility - this person will serve as a backup resource to build or maintain dashboards when the core team lacks bandwidth or during transitions.
Key Responsibilities
AI Tools & Automation (Primary focus)
- Design and implement AI-assisted workflows using tools such as Claude to automate repetitive data tasks — e.g., data cleansing, translation, categorization, and documentation
- Build dashboards, charts, and interactive visualizations using AI tools (e.g., Claude-generated artifacts, AI-assisted BI prototyping) as a faster alternative or complement to traditional BI development
- Build and refine reusable AI-driven processes (skills/pipelines) for recurring team needs
- Identify opportunities across the E&C; data function where AI tools can reduce manual effort or improve accuracy
- Stay current on AI tool capabilities and proactively bring in new use cases
Microsoft Fabric (Primary focus)
- Prepare and shape data within Fabric using lakehouses, warehouses, dataflows,
and pipelines to support analytics and reporting needs
- Design and maintain semantic models within Fabric, ensuring performance, governance, and reusability
- Support Fabric workspace administration, capacity management, and deployment practices (e.g., version control, basic CI/CD)
- Partner with data engineering or AI teams where deeper pipeline/engineering work (outside standard analytics-engineering scope) is required
Power BI (Secondary / backup capability)
- Act as backup support for existing Power BI reports and dashboards during team gaps, absences, or transitions
- Build current Power BI reports as needed when core team bandwidth is constrained
- Apply working knowledge of DAX, Power Query, semantic modelling, and RLS to maintain report continuity
- Ensure smooth handover/documentation so reports remain sustainable regardless of who maintains them
Required Qualifications
- Microsoft Fabric: Certified (DP-600 – Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate)
- Microsoft Power BI: Certified (PL-300 – Power BI Data Analyst Associate), with working proficiency sufficient to build/maintain reports independently
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI tools (such as Claude) for real analytical or workflow tasks — including building dashboards/visualizations, not just text-based automation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical/AI-driven approaches to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently and picking up ownership of existing solutions with minimal ramp-up time
- Experience in a regulated or compliance-driven industry (pharma, life sciences, financial services)
