What awaits you/ Job Profile

Join Driving Dynamics within the Engineering Intelligence unit to shape the next generation of digital toolchains for virtual vehicle dynamics development. You will take ownership of the overall software architecture for the D3Apps, IDUN, and postprocessing toolchains, ensuring a cohesive, scalable, and future?proof platform that enables developers, simulation and test engineers to manage data, automate workflows, execute simulations, analyze results, and produce reports efficiently. In this cross?functional role you will independently coordinate interfaces, data models and technological evolution across tightly coupled systems, introduce agent?based work processes, and lead their implementation on BMW AI platforms. If you enjoy solving complex integration challenges and delivering high?impact engineering tools that directly accelerate vehicle development, this role gives you the opportunity to influence both technical direction and product adoption across international teams.

What should you bring along

- Proven experience designing software and system architectures for complex, multi?component engineering toolchains.




- Strong collaboration skills and an ability to align stakeholders from simulation, development and test teams.
- Hands?on mindset: capability to convert architectural vision into practical roadmaps, prototypes and deliverables.
- Experience with data modeling and defining interfaces across coupled systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization and platform operations.
- Interest in AI/agentic systems and how AI can support engineering workflows.
- Good command of English for technical communication.

Must have technical skill

- Software, system and integration architecture experience.
- Cloud & container architecture, preferably AWS.
- Experience with APIs and interface design / integration.
- Data architecture and data modeling for engineering datasets.
- DevOps practices: CI/CD, testing and security automation.
- Practical experience with Docker and GitHub for source and CI/CD workflows.
- Proficiency in at least some of: Python, TypeScript / Angular, NestJS.

Positive to have Technical skills

- Terraform or other infrastructure?as?code experience.
- Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL or similar DBMS for engineering data.
- Prior exposure to HPC environments and MBS/Simpack integration.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and automated reporting pipelines.
- Hands?on knowledge of AI tooling for development (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and governance.
- Previous work on engineering data/workflow platforms (e.g., D3Apps, IDUN) or vehicle dynamics domains.
