Reporting to: Quality Manager
Desired Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Textile Engineering or Diploma in Textile post 10+2 or equivalent. Have knowledge of textile production processes, particularly in technical textiles such as industrial fabrics, protective fabrics, or specialty textiles.
Desired Experience: Should be having minimum 3-5+ years of experience in similar role. Should be Familiar with textile testing methods (e.g., tensile strength, tear resistance, abrasion testing) and testing equipment. Own ability to read and interpret technical drawings, product specifications, and quality standards. Should possess in-depth knowledge of technical textile manufacturing processes, including weaving, coating, laminating, and fabric finishing. Have proficiency in quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, and the ability to lead internal and external audits. Own leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a team, foster collaboration, and communicate effectively with production and management teams. Ability to make data-driven decisions and handle quality-related issues in a fast-paced production workplace.
Major Purpose of the Job:
The production Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality control process during the production of technical textiles products. This role involves supervising the quality team, ensuring compliance with quality standards, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous improvements in product quality and production efficiency. Ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements
Principal Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Quality Oversight:
- Supervise and manage the quality control process throughout production, ensuring all technical textile products meet company and customer specifications.
- Ensure quality inspections are carried out at various stages of production, including raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
2. Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of quality checkers and inspectors, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to quality control procedures.
- Schedule and assign quality personnel to appropriate production areas, ensuring all shifts are covered for quality assurance activities.
3. Defect Management & Troubleshooting:
- Identify and address product defects or quality issues during production, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve recurring defects, equipment malfunctions, or process inefficiencies.
4. Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure all products comply with industry standards and customer-specific requirements, including strength, durability, and performance criteria of technical textiles.
- Conduct internal quality audits to verify adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory requirements.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and minimize waste, working with cross-functional teams (Production, R&D;).
- Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for process improvement.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics such as defect rates, yields, and areas for improvement.
7. Training & Development:
- Train and develop quality personnel on quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and the use of testing equipment.
- Ensure that all production staff are knowledgeable about quality standards and procedures.
