Job Description: A Turbine Operator in a steel manufacturing plant (typically 25MW–39MW+ capacity) is responsible for the secure, efficient startup, operation, and shutdown of steam turbine-generator (TG) units and auxiliary systems to provide consistent power for production processes. This role involves managing parameters such as steam pressure, RPM, lube oil pressure, and vibration, often using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or by performing manual field checks. Key Responsibilities

- Operations: Safely start up, operate, and shut down steam turbine-generators (e.g., Siemens, Yokogawa systems).
- Monitoring & Control: Use DCS and field inspections to manage critical parameters like speed, load, and vibration, alongside supporting equipment like cooling towers and lube oil systems.
- Maintenance & Safety:



Troubleshoot operational issues and perform routine maintenance while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, PTW).

Requirements & Skills
- Experience & Education: Typically requires several years of experience in co-generation plants, often requiring a background in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., ITI, Diploma, or B.Tech).
- Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of turbine operations, DCS systems, troubleshooting, and auxiliary equipment.
- Physical: Ability to work rotating shifts and perform physical inspections.
