Job Description: A DCS (Distributed Control System) Engineer in a power plant controls and optimizes high-pressure boilers, turbines, and auxiliaries from a central control room to ensure secure, efficient power generation. They monitor parameters (pressure, temperature, flow), troubleshoot using HMI, and execute safe startups/shutdowns. [1, 2] Key Responsibilities

- DCS Operation & Monitoring: Continuously operate the plant via systems like Honeywell, Siemens, or Yokogawa to manage combustion efficiency, fuel-to-air ratios, and steam pressure.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose, fix, or report DCS field instrumentation malfunctions (flow meters, transmitters, valves) in real-time.
- Startup/Shutdown Procedures: Execute precise sequences for starting and shutting down AFBC/WHRB boilers and turbines.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) protocols and manage critical alarms to prevent trips.




- Data Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, trends, and performance reports of plant equipment. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: B.E/B.Tech or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–10 years in power plants, steel, or captive power generation, specifically with DCS/PLC/SCADA systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of boiler-turbine interlocks, PID controllers, and field instrumentation.
- Competencies: Analytical thinking, shift work adaptability, and strong coordination with field operators. [1, 2, 3, 4]
