Job Description: A Road Surveyor maps, measures, and stakes out land for highway construction and maintenance, ensuring precise alignment, elevation, and boundaries. They utilize surveying tools (GPS, Total Stations) to guide construction teams, verify, and document as-built data for engineering projects. They are essential for setting out roads, monitoring ground movement, and ensuring quality control. Key Responsibilities

- Setting Out Roadwork: Establishing precise horizontal and vertical control points (X, Y, Z coordinates) for road alignments, slopes, and elevations.
- Data Collection & Calculation: Conducting field measurements using total stations and GPS/GNSS technology.
- Site Inspection & Verification: Verifying that road construction complies with design plans and legal boundaries.
- As-Built Surveys: Recording final infrastructure locations for official records.
- Mapping and Reporting: Creating, interpreting, and maintaining construction drawings, maps, and reports using software like CAD or GIS.
- Collaboration:



Coordinating with engineers, architects, and site managers to resolve design and construction issues.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: A degree or diploma in surveying, civil engineering, geomatics, or related fields.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of surveying instruments (theodolites, levels, laser scanners) and software (CAD/GIS).
- Mathematical Skills: Excellent accuracy in geometry and trigonometry.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and terrain. Work Environment

- Road surveyors spend significant time in office (often outdoors), requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Occasional travel and, sometimes, weekend or evening work, depending on project deadlines.
