Job Description: An Accountant in steel manufacturing manages daily financial operations, including raw material procurement costing, inventory valuation (scrap/iron ore), and statutory compliance (GST/TDS) using ERP software like SAP or Tally. They prepare financial statements and analyze manufacturing overheads to ensure profitability. [1, 2, 3, 4] Key Responsibilities

- Cost Accounting & Inventory: Track and analyze production costs, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods (TMT bars/billets).
- Financial Reporting & Closing: Perform monthly/yearly closings and prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L;, Cash Flow).
- Taxation & Compliance: Manage GST, TDS/TCS, and statutory filings, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage vendor payments, customer invoices, and bank reconciliations.
- Budgeting & Analysis:



Develop budgets and analyze variances in production costs to improve profitability.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: B.Com/M.Com/CA/CMA (Chartered Accountant/Cost Management Accountant).
- Experience: Generally 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, with preference for integrated steel plants.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP FICO/Tally) and MS Excel.
- Skills: Robust knowledge of inventory valuation, cost accounting, and tax regulations.

Key Tasks

- Collaborating with factory teams on inventory counts.
- Handling internal/external audits.
- Providing data-driven insights to management for cost control.
